Yes Finally!!!!!
Cool...but I assume that your car came equipped with XM...is that correct?
If that's true, got some news for you...you may want to cancel your order PRONTO.
I just resubscribed to my XM @ $77 for the year YESTERDAY, and the operator informed me that by the end of January the merger between XM and Sirius will take place. At that time, you'll automatically have the ability to recieve BOTH XM and Sirius radio channels if you own an XM or Sirius reciever.
HOEWVER, you won't automatically start getting both by default. You will have to alter your subscription and pay for 'channel packs' like you do for cable or satellite television. Either way, you will not need a 'Sirius Capable Reciever' since your XM radio is good enough already.

I also pre-ordered the conversion this morning. It's the SiriusConnect one:

This would seem to be breaking news. I think the next ruling on the merger is set to happen at the end of January, but that doesn't mean it'll be approved. Just like anything legal, it ain't over till the fat lady stops filing appeals.
I've been following this pretty close and most "insiders" think that the odds of it being approved are about 50/50, but when it was first announced those same people thought it was 80/20 against being approved, so maybe the worm has turned.

The business articles I read seem to put the odds at better than 50/50. I agree with you that when it was announced must people said it would never be approved. I think Sirius has done a good job convincing the powers that be that they have other competition than just XM-Sirius, like digital music players and digital radio.
The articles I've been reading the past couple weeks almost talk about it as a sure thing to happen.

Yea u get approved to order it I also emailed him n asked him when ill b getting it and he says a lot sooner than I think lol so Im guessing its in the mail or something. Its an integration system for the car that runs sirius over the XM connections
Once this thing shows up and you get it install make sure you give us all the details about how it works. I used to be with Sirius since they first started offering subs... that was until I bought my TL and was forced to drop Sirius and sub to XM. I've gotten used to it, but I prefer Sirius over XM.

I thought that the SC-C1 is the actual receiver and the HON-SC1 is the thing that translates the sirius data and controls to our radio.
Just trying to figure out if I bought something I didn't need.
I had to do research for XM for my of my classes in the my master's program in regards to XM/Sirius merger. Ater hours of research, I believe the merger will most likely go through. Satellite radio's main compeitor is not between XM and Sirius, but like HiTec was saying, with other forms of media. Ex. I-Pods, traditional radio, dvds, cds etc.
Although this will create a huge monopoly because no other company has the techonlogy and licensing in the United States to offer such services. No company can just go ahead and launch a satellite into orbit and offer satellite radio. It doesn't work that way.
As a result we may see an increase in our satellite radio services in the near future. Argh!

You need the HON-SC1 AND the SCC1. The HON-SC1 ONLY translates the signal into your XM radio. The SCC1 is the actual tuner that translates the signal from the antenna. They are both like $50. Good price.

The HON-SC1 hasn't been released yet. I called Directed and they said January sometime. Directed is the manufacturer of the HON-SC1.
I would be willing to bet a good sum of money the merger will never make it. Do a good search on Dishnetwork - DirecTV merger. They used the same reasons Sirius is trying to use to take over XM. Cable, DVDs, etc. Shot down, AND they got just as far as Sirius and XM are now... waiting on a ruling from the FCC.

Appreciate the update on that. I'll check around come the beginning of '08. I highly look forward to getting my Sirius channels through my OEM stereo with this conversion.
I have to agree with you, I don't think the merger will be approved. The FCC approved the Time Warner/AOL media giant merger quicker than this one. I hear the House & Senate Committees have completely put this merger on the back-burner. Bottom line, the Feds do not like what's even perceived to be a monopoly. Good point, Sirius using the competition examples of I-Pod, DVD's, MP3 players, HD Radio, etc. is not going to fly. If you want satellite radio, you will no longer have a choice betwen 2 companies and this irks the Feds. The Feds do not trust companies that claim they will not raise prices. Most economists will agree that competition keeps prices lower. My
