Angrydad/MID Trip Computer Conflict

I searched but didn't find anything on this issue:

I noticed just after installing the Angyrdad Navi Hacks that the trip computer mod didn't jive with the MID for Range and MPG.

Example - right now the AD mod says I have I'm getting 24.6 mpg and have 286 miles remaining. MID says 24 mpg and 277 miles remaining.

If they were getting the info from the same place the MID should be reading 25 mpg. I've seen over 1 mpg mis-compare between the two.

Input?

It's a known issue... or non-issue to be correct.

It seems the mid calculation is derived from a different calculation than the nav programming.

Someone in an OLD thread showed how thier Accord, which has this capability from the factory, showed a minor discrepancy as you described between the 2 numbers, so it appears to be working "as designed" if you will.

It's also been reported that those two numbers "converge" the lower the gas gauge gets...

Thanks, Kennedy.

Did anyone ever derive which you should trust? My wife is the kind that freaks out when the range hits 0. I know better but it would help if someone had insight on which is more accurate.

Yep, I'm aware of that. If there's a 10 mile difference between the two and you were really strapped for a pit stop, it'd be helpful to know which to trust. Oh, and I'm really praying the AD is more accurate because it shows better mileage...guess I could just calculate the old fashioned way for a test.

Keep an eye on it. Those 2 numbers converge as the gas gauge gets lower. When your near out of gas, the numbers are the same.
