XMHD Surround Sound

Just received an XM brochure in the mail and it lists two stations (76 and 113) which are broadcast in "XM-HD 5.1 Surround" (starting March 06). I'm guessing the TL can't decode that, but does anyone know? Our TL is my wife's during the week so it's not out front right now for me to test (she's at work). But I'm doubting that the XM receiver in the TL is capable of decoding the 5.1 because this audio system was designed 3-4 years ago (before the 04 TL came out), and probably at that time XM had no plans in place for this. I hope I'm wrong though.

oh oh oh... I know this one....

The TL cannot decode the HDXM... You would need to get a HDXM receiver in addition to what is in there now.... XM comes in at 2 channel and is usually pretty compressed....

I know but maybe the HD receivers weren't ready yet when Acura signed the design deal on the TL.... either way...

That's what I figured... *sigh*

Sucks to have a great 5.1 surround system but barely any content for it!

I have found a bunch at Fry’s, and Best Buy so far. Very limited selection though. I will tell you Queen Bohemian Rhapsody sounds excellent in the TL.

Try Acoustic Sounds or Music Direct, both of which are online dealers of both stereo equipment and music. Run their names together as single words and add ".com" and you'll have the URLs.
