XM button stopped working

Hey guys I have an iSIMPLE installed and have had it installed for over a year now no problems...all of a sudden nothing happens when trying to select XM...

I have tried mode and the XM button also disconnecting my battery negative cable for 3 plus hours (twice)...nothing..

My questions are based on me searching already and seeing other people with similar problems but nobody following their thread saying what had worked!!! other than a quick disconnect

I found one thread stating "press map+menu+guide and go to f-can or b-can"
WHAT IS THAT>? my map and guide button are the same button...? What am I doing wrong

Also where is my xm radio box and where would you think my installer installed the isimple box...under the dash? I will call....I would like to unplug the xm unit plugs and re plug them in...

thanks I know a long thread but I hope SOMEBODY will help me and I dont have 200 views and 1 response that does me simply no good..

Does your radio and cd player still work just fine? Does your XM still show the channel and artist names or is it not receiving anything at all?

Hey.

I've had this problem. All you need to do it unplug the harness from the actual iSimple unit for a few seconds, and plug it back in.

It will work again.

I'm having a similar problem. I just swapped out my old unit for a new one that'll work with my iPhone 4. After putting in the new unit, my XM button stopped working, therefore, I'm not able to access my MP3's.

When I go into the diag. screen and select Navi, it shows the XM in red.

Didn't have time to unplug the harness from behind the radio. Seems like that's the recommended solution - unplug harness, and replug.

Any other ideas?

You don't unplug it from behind the radio. You unplug it directly from the iSimple unit. Takes less than a minute. I had the same problem, where it showed the XM in red in the diag screen. A simple unplug, and replug fixed it.

I've tried it multiple times already. Still no bueno.

Old unit will work instantly. New unit won't. I'm so annoyed.

Thank you! I noticed the problem a few days ago when I decided to listen to XM on the way to the dealer for an oil change. I told them about it and after their diagnostic they told me that the navigation system is going bad and needs to be replaced. $3100 for the unit and $100 in labor.

I said let me do some research and get back to you on that. Interestingly saw this post and saw that a few of us have the same problem around the same time.

I did what was suggested by TLperfection.
First try: unplugged the cable connecting the Isimple unit to the ipod....This did not fix the problem.

Second try: unplugged the Isimple unit from the cable connecting the unit to the XM and Radio. Drove home, about 15 minutes...This worked as mentioned above.

Averted spending at most $3200.

Nice. After it started working again did you plug the iSimple unit back in? If so, did it work?

When I plug my old iSimple unit in, it picks up instantly. But with the new unit it shows the red XM in the diag. screen.

I plugged back the iSimple after playing with XM for a few minutes. It is still working.

I've had my iSimple unit since early 2010. I am guessing it it the old unit.
