...searched some threads on here, saw someone said they put a jl sub to replace the stock sub

i'm not much of an audio person, does anyone know if an 8" JL w3v3 will fit and replace the stock sub in an 06?

I havent done it but its my plan to put a 8W3v2-dual 4ohm... Wired correctly will be similar to the stock sub.

To my understanding the size is right but the holes do not line up. I think I did some measurements in my rear deck, and the depth is either right on or not enough.

Now expect to hear how its not a free air sub, and the enclosure size is all wrong even if it was sealed. Then there will be comments on how the stock amp wont sound right.

If you have a new TL then the noise canceling thru the sub will be broken.

I just order one 8 inch MB QUART 2ohms hopefully it fit and sound great. My stock sub is blown. MB QUART should fit with no problems.

Because I want a trunk, and dont want to drop a grand (probably more), and retain my hearing. I've had enough bass to blur my vision (not the mirror, my eyes) and I'm over it. I want a clearer and more accurate sound. I realize that this sub in a free-air enclosure isnt the best, but it has to be better than stock.

I want to use the stock amp, stock hole, and stock rear deck.

 

...yeah im not looking to use any trunk space for subs, i just want something that will fit right in and replace the stock

i'll probably end up replacing the door speakers first, heard that the polk audio db5251 was decent for the price

 

if u want great speakers...depending on where u go you'll end up paying 60-100 per speaker.... they are the beyma 90 mi. i believe thats the model number. I have these in my car and they are louder than anything i have ever heard in the size range....they are considered loud speakers. not for nothing.... i would never go with anything else....the sound reproduction and frequency ranges are insane! whether ur amping them or leaving them with the stock amp they sound great. I still have a lot of trunk space because i fiberglassed the whole trunk and only used a small amount of space along with a vent the size of the opening in the elbow rest in the back seat.....yea its a lil crazy but the massage thats delivered is worth it.
