Where exactly is XM Tuner located?

I have an '05 TL and want to tap in an AUX input using relays at the XM input. Problem is, I can't find the XM Tuner in my 05 w/ NAVI. I know where the NAV is, but not the XM box. Any help or pictures are appreciated.

Thanks,

Y2J

The XM receiver must be near the navi, because the service manual says it is behind the panel on the right side of the trunk. This is for the 2004 TL, but I wouldnt think they would move it for the 2005 year.

My big fear is that it is integrated inside the headunit/navi screen...Let's hope not....It appears to be the same unit as last year's....If anyone knows where the 04 unit is located and can provide me with some info/pics I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Let me put it in another way, one which might more easily be understood. I will try to be more clear because I realize now that my first input might not have been perfectly clear.

The XM receiver in the 2004 TL is near the Navi unit, because the service manual for the 2004 TL says to remove the same panel, on the right side of the trunk, for access to either the XM receiver in the 2004 TL or the Navi unit in the 2004 TL.

Your original question was "If anyone knows where the 04 unit is located and can provide me with some info/pics I would appreciate it."

I provided that info, but without pics. Pics would not help here because the service manual only shows a picture of the XM receiver for the 2004 TL, and the Navi unit for the 2004 TL. They didn't show a picture of the right side of the trunk because when you've seen one right side of a trunk for the 2004 TL, you've seen them all.

There is a picture of the Component Location Index on page 22-455 of the service manual, which shows the Navi unit residing on the right side of the trunk, nearest the rear of the 2004 TL, and the XM receiver immediately in front of it, also on the right side of the trunk. Since the picture will only corroborate my findings, which are not of a very technical nature, I will not input it here unless it is absolutely necessary.

Hope this helps more than my first reply.

It's located right behind the wall that the AV electronics unit is mounted to.
