I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but I have found that having the Dolby Pro Logic on or off makes a big difference on how loud I have to have the volume. I would say with Dolby on I have to turn the volume up 3-5 levels higher. I would say with a CD I can listen anywhere from 2-6 depending on the CD with windows up and Dolby off. That goes up to 10 or so when Dolby is on. XM and Aux I can get to 15 if Dolby is on. I've had my car for a couple weeks and I still go back and forth on whether I prefer Dolby on or off. It varies depending on source. I think CD may be better with it on, XM probably off, and if I use my iPod through the Aux then sometimes I think it sounds better on and sometimes off. I wish I could have it set so it automatically turns on or off depending on my source instead of having to change it every time. I'm starting to think I might just keep it off.

Redmen34, any difference you hear while listening to anything else but the tape deck must be an optical [sonor] illusion. The dolby switch is used for toggling the noise reduction while playing a tape cassette, therefore it has no effect whatsoever on CD or radio feeds. Read more about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_n...duction_system

I thought our Dolby switch is not a NR switch but a Pro Logic simulated surround sound switch?

BTW...
My Dolby switch is off. I find things to sound much better and clearer with it off.

The Dolby Pro Logic is only on the '07s. This is different from the Dolby Noise Reduction for tapes that is on the '04-'06s.

Feel isnt the word with some of the systems we have lol. I got the new IPOD whic enhances the sound and thats good but it's integration pr0ocedure isnt exactly correct for the ipod unit honda makes for the car so it freezes a lot =(

And sunny I got 2 12 inch W7's heading my way from NY right now, Im in miami finishing up the system in a fiberglass vented enclosure... I already have a FG vented but its 3 10w6 v2......and yea I agree I still want more bass Im afraid the glass will crack with the W7's vented..... LOTS of pressure.... LOL I reeaaalllyy wanna feel it.

Also, I don't think i've gone above volume 10 on my TL. at level 10 it's already too loud even if windows are down.

Actually, this setting is SPEED sensitive, not noise sensitive. Max gives more of a volume adjustment than Med as SPEED increases.

I guess the assumption is that as speed increases, so does engine noise, road noise and wind noise.

I listen anywhere between 4 and 40. Average, I guess 15 - 20.

Not to be the old guy but how long can your ears last when listening to music that loud? Some of you guys are going to have hearing aids soon because of that. Your ears are like your eyes, you only get one set, and if you damage them, its forever.

Not to be the young guy(not tryin to make fun of you) and not sure if this is 100% true... I heard that bass doesnt really make you go deaf, its the treble (more higher pitched sounds) that does.

Either way 30 is really loud and there is bass and treble at all levels. I don't know if I have ever even had mine at 20 for more than 30 seconds...hurts my ears. I am talking with CDs and iPods, the radio/XM is weird.

Im always around 30-34, I normalize my track's volume when I burn a CD so that everysong is at the same level. I setup the wooffer/base/treble professional way so I could drive it at 40 with no problem....

BUT Since I now Burn DVD-A the audio quality is now improved and I droped my volume at around 28-30 depend if I feeling the beat or not ...

I just love loud music

No. It is called Dolby Pro Logic and it is designed to simulate 5.1 channel surround sound from a regular two channel stereo track as someone else mentioned. Read more at the TL site at Acura.com. Must be new for '07, which is what I have.
