Volume at speed

Sorry if this is a repeat post, but I did a search and couldn't find it.

Does the '04 TL have settings to increase the sound system volume as road speed increases? Both my other cars have this feature, and I like being able to hear my tunes at the same volume level regardless of speed.

Thanks!

Mike

no we dont have that feature, but since my car is in body shop, and now i'm driving Buick Rendezvou, it has that feature. Kind of annoying IMO, plus we got volume control right on steering wheel.

Well, the alternative is to have to stab the steering wheel control every time you slow down or speed up much. If the one in the Buick you have is annoying, it's probably because it ain't set right ... you shouldn't really notice it. It should just keep the volume at the right level no matter what speed you're going.

I have it on my Maxima and My Beemer, as well as on my Honda Gold Wing touring bike, and it's nice.

Thanks for the info, though!

The reasoning why Acura omitted this feature may be that the TL is sooooo much quieter than other cars, and soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much quieter than your Gold Wing, that it is probably not needed. Plus the fact that some people don't like it; can you defeat this on your vehicles or is it always controlling the volume by speed? Did somebody mention it would cost more to put it in? No. OK, then I won't.

Actually the volume feature on GM vehicles are much more noticable unless it has the bose system. I have rented a couple of those vehicles in the past and it did a poor job of masking the getting loud and quiet during stop and start.

some people like this feature, others don't, it would have been nice for them to include it and allow you to turn it off, which i believe most cars these days allow you to do.

my personal experience? it's not really neccessary, i rahter be in control of the volume then leaving it to a computer. my parent's bmw has it. one day i was sitting at a red light with the music on loud, it was a straight away, so i decided to test out the bmw, i hit around 100 and had to slow down cus the volume was increased way too much by the computer that my ears were about to explode. and yes i know you change the setting for it, but that was my first experience

Mike,

The answer is no, I had that in my Maxima so I definately know what you are referring too. Don't miss it in the Acura TL at all. The TL is so quiet compared to the Maxima ( drove them many years trading every two ) you don't really have much cause to change the volume goinf from street to highway and so forth.

What I do miss is my heated steering wheel. Nothing else though, TL is a great car and I have not regretted my decisionn of changing to TL from Max. I did when I went from Max to Avalon XLS so was leery getting away from Max again but TL is fantastic.
