there's been lots of problems with the VERIZON treo 650 and HFL, hopefully this will help, it just came out today...

::warning, this is for verizon users ONLY, if you have a print make sure you download the updater that came out a month ago. - the verison updater doesn't mention anything about bluetooth or hands free kits, but who knows.... hopefully it will correct internal issues that are effecting HFL - again.. good luck, let me know how it works.::

After a year of successful use with between the Acura and my Sony T637, I upgraded to a Verizon Treo 650 yesterday. . . .only to find out that while I could pair the phone to the car, once complete - the car did not recognize the existence of the phone - as if the phone were shut off or out of range (i.e. no phone icon on the dash).

I was going to install the Verizon Treo updater 1.03 - but this really seems like an arduous task and there's no mention that it corrects any bluetooth problems - so don't want to do this for nothing. Any insight?

 

I had the same problem until I set the link on the treo to be a "trusted pair". This will fix your problem.

 

It's already listed in "trusted devices". I did the upgrade to 1.03. . . still doesn't work. Any other suggestions?

 

//shrugs...I repaired after listing it as a trusted device, I paired it by picking it off the trusted device list, not the detected devices list. This fixed it for me.

 

I think the VZW Treo 650 works with only the 2005+ TL's. By the sound of it, artwood and myself have 2004 TL's and we can't use our Treo's in our car. Yes, I can get the phone paired, but once I shutoff the car and walk away, and come back to the car, 5 mins later, the car doesn't recognize the phone anymore. I do have the Treo 1.03 update and that didn't help either. Are you guys using any special Bluetooth files on your Treo?

 

check and see how much free memory you have on the phone. i've also heard people having problems if the free space is under 8MB. did you try RLock? that actually solved all my problems

 

I tried the rlock. I didn't see anything Bluetooth related that I can lock using rlock. I actually locked everyting and it still didn't work. I have 14mb free on my Treo.

 

I have 11 MB of free space and I have no idea what rlock is. Still not working. . .
