V710: "Weak Bluetooh Signal, Use Headset" !?

I got my V710 back in July when they first came out and it paired up without a hitch. I used my phone in my car all the time for business calls. However, lately my phone has not been linking with the TL and even the link goes in an out while I'll drive around. But the most annoying thing is that while I am in the middle of a call, my phone will cut out and read on the screen "Weak Bluetooth Handset, Use Headset?" By the time I figure out what is going on, and 'try' changing to the headset the call is dropped and I have to call back the person.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is it the phone, is it the HFL in the TL? I don't even bother trying to use the Bluetooth now, i just rather use a handfree earpiece since it is more reliable.

When did you buy it? What's your firmware? Have you tried to delete your original profile in HFL and re-link to HFL again?

I have had mine about 6 weeks now and have had the phone NOT link when on and car was started ONE time. I was just showing the car to someone (helluva demo huh?!)... When I got in the car to go home though an hour or 2 later, and every time since, it has always been just fine.

I am still waiting on the damn firmware update for the 710 to be available in my area. Hopefully by the end of the month....

I would DEF make sure you get whatever firmware is indeed the latest available for you. It takes about 1/2 hour and it's free at the Verizon store.

It is interferance. Something you will have to live with honestly. So many things run on 2.4 GHz (yeah I am a nerdy computer engineer) that you get alot of interference. Even WiFi (wireless protocol) interferes with bluetooth. The "bluetooth signal weak" thing usually goes away in a few seconds if I am moving.

The firmware is:8700_01.30.8F. I got the phone back in July and bought the TL in May. I have not deleted the profile and re-linked the phone with the car, I will try that today.

The worst part of the whole thing is that the call is in limbo when I get that message, the person can't hear me and I can't talk to them. I have let it go a couple of time while trying to figure out what was going with the phone and the message never goes away. Is the newest firmware going to fix this, and is there one that is available in Chicago yet?

New firmware is always better (well... USUALLY... lol)

I doubt it will hurt. Call Verizon to see what is available... I would try deleting and repairing as was also suggested. As with the new firmware, why not try. It certainly won't hurt.
