V710 - My chat today with Motorola
V710 - My chat today with Motorola
I chatted today with the Motorola Cellular Software Support department.
I wanted to make sure that they were aware of some of the problems I have been experiencing with my V710:
He said that item (3) was a previously unknown issue for them. He was talking directly with the software folks while I was on hold. He asked me for some more details, and told me that it would be investigated.
Also, he said that Verizon is expected to have a different firmware version than the Radio Shack purchased phones. He did not know the firmware version, or what was to be repaired in that version.
He said the PhoneTools connectivity problems are a combined V710 firmware and PhoneTools issue. He had no estimate on when the combined fix will be available.
Not a lot of hard information here, but I think there's still some useful stuff ...
I wanted to make sure that they were aware of some of the problems I have been experiencing with my V710:
- No Signal Strength or Battery Level icons on the HFL display
- Random phone resets
- Incoming calls don't always get picked up immediately by the HFL
- No Contact Synchronization (Blewtooth or USB) with PhoneTools
- No file transfers possible from V710 to PC

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later. I have a few pics on the phone I want to transfer to the PC. Also time to look into getting some transflash and an adapter/reader.
