v600 ... We need to raise hell ...

The fact that Motorola released a phone that does not work properly is BS. We need to raise hell. Does any know how to contact Motorola by phone. I tried finding a number on the website but couldn't. Sqeeky wheel gets the oil. We all need to bash Motorola, Johnson Control and our service providers...Let's get this open clam syndrome fixed!!!

Motorola customer service number ???

Johnson Control number ???

Raising hell WORKS!!! Got new tires!!!

Ive never had problems with this phone. It paired right up and works fine with closed clam.
May be a build issue with specific SN runs

Later model V600 will less likely have this problem. Another member on this board, pedalermike knows quite a bit about the Motorola V600 series and the firmware/flex versions. Some things to consider about the V600:

1.) Where you purchased it... i.e. U.S., Europe, Asia

2.) Which version did you get? i.e. From a provider, OEM unlocked, etc

3.) Firmware & Flex version.

TXTL,

Here are the contact numbers I used. All I got from Motorola was that there was a MAC Address Issue with my phone and it needed to be fixed. AT&T ended up sending me a replacement phone which had the same problems as my original phone (incoming calls are routed to phone if clam is closed). It was pretty frustrating even talking to customer support at Motorola. Thay have no idea what even bluetooth is and the fact that it can be used to pair the phone with non-motorola devices like laptops etc. Have a go at them .....

The Handsfreelink customer support number is 888-528-7876.

Unfortunately, new phone models are just like new model cars. The bugs need to be worked out. Motorola is especially bad with bug issues.

Keep in mind this is Motorola's first series along with the V300/V400/V500 that have proven themselves of a worthy audience. All manufacturers go through bugs, some more than others. The most prevelant bug that all TL owners are experiencing is the open clamshell for receiving calls, of course it will get fixed. If you plan on buying phones at the early stage, especially from a manufacturer that hasn't had a good GSM phone series within the past couple years in the U.S., expect a couple quarks...I'm sure they're fixing it cause if they didn't, there would be many V600 owners getting their refund.

I bought my V600 just last Friday, I paired the phone per Acura instructions, set up the phone per Motorola instructions, but when I received a call I would tap the "Talk" key on the steering wheel and nothing....so I followed "pedalermike" and "imni" suggestions and when the call comes in I press the "talk" key and I hear nothing, but my customers can hear me cursing at the phone.
I can make calls without a problem, other than the fact the system cannot understand a British accent, go figure, the system works fine.....what am I missing????I can make calls so I have full faith in the TL, but this idea of keeping the clam shell open, I tried it last night (without pedalermike's set-up I might add) and it didn't work...I'm on AT&T (Canada) Are there any settings that control the link between the phone and the stereo system that I have not set.....????
Cheers, Manumad

I have been having the same problems with my V600, wherein you hit the talk button to answer a call, and it goes to the phone itself, instead of the HFL. Well I dont know, for some reason it seem to be working now. I was fart'n around with the phone one day, changed some settings, and now it seems to be working. Dont know if it will last, but I've sucessfully taken the last about 7 or 8 calls.

Don't know if this will help, but I heard if you have the phone set to "answer on open" it has issues with the HFL...

Hey guys,

The flipper open or closed is just part of bandage solution and you'll drive yourself nuts trying to get a stable configuration (I know, I did). Apparently the Motorola engineers have the fix and are waiting for AT&T to approve it for release. It'll be available as a software reload for the phone sometime towards the end of the month.

The OS update is pretty well independent of the carrier. The Flex is what customizes the phone for one service or another. So if ATT approves it, then it should be work for cingular and TM.

thanks

P-Mike...

Thanks for your input. This site has been so helpful with new release issues for the TL and the V600.

Please update the board when the 9.42 update is released.

Thanks!!!

This is slightly off topic, but I need to know.

1) Has anyone else noticed that when you have the pic size set to 640x480 on the camara, that the resolution drops every time you zoon in? At 2x zoon, it drops to 320-240 and at 4x zoon it drops to 160x120. Is this normal, for me.. it sucks. because all my zoomed in pics are so freak'en tiny when displayed on my laptop.

2) Also.. one great benefit of bluetooth is FREE RING TONES! I have a blue tooth adapter in my laptop.. I can download MIDI's all day long for free from the web and then tranfer them to my phone via bluetooth. Pretty awesome.

So far, I love the phone. the camera is the only thing that pisses me off. Actually, I noticed it while using the phone for work. We were using it to take pics of out server room, heh. it worked in a pinch.

There may not be enough of us nationwide to make an impact.

It may have to wait for another model. I feel there is too much coding required in order for it to function just for the Acura-TL owners. Perhaps if other cars provided the same feature, our voice would become much stronger.
