Question V1 Hardwire Question - Door Lock Triggers V1??

My V1 is hardwired into my 05 TL Navi Auto, and everytime the doors lock/unlock, the V1 sounds in laser mode. It is hardwired into the rear power window circuit in the fusebox. It did not do this is when I first installed it, leading me to believe it is a problem with the V1. Anyone else experience this?? It does not impact the operation of the unit, or performance near as I can tell - its just annoying.

I will also email V1.

Thanks.

why did you wire it into the power window circuit? you should have just used something that turns on and off with the key. i'm guessing the window and locks circuits are some how tied together. best bet is to just rewire the V1

Rewire it to ACC 1, don't use the window circuit.

This is a standard thing I've seen with the V1 (across multiple cars). A voltage drop will cause the V1 to alarm.

People who did -not- hardwire the V1 into 1998-2001 Audi A4's had this issue...

Yea, I had a 2001 S4 and used the cig. lighter and everytime I turned on the wipers with the lights on, the V1 would sound off. I fixed it by doing a hardwire.

I don't know what fuse I used to hardwire mine, but I don't have that problem.

I agree with everyone else, try another fuse to get your power

Hi,

The unit will behave erratically when the voltage supply drops below 11
volts. Unfortunately, this type of problem is vehicle specific and can
only be resolved my re-wiring the unit to a different power source.

Thanks,

Michael Negussu

I will try an alternate circuit. If the voltage supply drops below 11 volts, wouldn't it affect every circuit, and thus the same problem? I did notice yesterday, that it didn't do it when the A/C and headlights were off...

Thanks.

One of the members gave me this idea, and it allows you to kill the power to the V1 by pressing the window lock button. Since I don't have the concealed display, this comes in handy when I cop comes up behind you at night. I figure its one less reason for them to pull you over if he can't see the detector... I have done this three times and have had the car for 3.5 months.
