No one makes them for any car. Head to a local audio shop, pick out some monitors you like, and prepare to pay them to tear the headrests oepn. My friend's dad owns a car audio shop (and other stuff too light streetglow, some parts, etc, but mostly audio) that carries monitors, amps, woofers, speakers, etc. If you're willing to put down a pretty penny, go with a name like Clarion, Kenwood, Panasonic, any of those.

Eventually I'd like to put some nice bling in my car like the AVElectronics thing for the nav, headrest screens, etc, just for fun .

damn i saw someone who had them installed with an Xbox and everything... it can be done custom, but the way our headrests are angled, it would be harder to do i would think.

I was at tweeters today (getting an FM mod done on my car) for 4 hours and was looking through the headrests, and they only have em for the MDX's... err, im sure there will be somone who will come out with the OEM or something like it for the 04 TL.

let us know if you find any

thats not the problem. There is a L-shaped stip of metal bottom of the headrest which is impossible to put a decent LCD in. Possibly a 5" at the most. The metal strip gives the headrest its shape. If U push agaist the back of the headrest near the bottom you can feel it. I was getting 7" alpines put in but they are making a custom mold that is going to go below the Headrest and into the back of the seat but Im giving up my TL to my sister. passengers look down to watch whatevers on. I think thats the best for our car though. No dangling wires and no ripped/messed up headrests. They told me it would look completely stock and not buly at all but i dont know.

There are pre-made headrests with 7" screens for many cars these days. We just bought a set from Best Buy last month for our 2002 MDX. Cost was $1499 retail and included the DVD players, 2 remotes, 2 wireless headsets, 2 matching headrests with screens embedded (saddle interior, perfect match), and all the necessary cables. We also ran a PS2 cable under the seat, and the system allows 2 different sources to be viewed on each monitor (i.e. PS2 on one and a DVD movie on the other, or 2 different movies (using PS2 DVD player capability). There probably aren't any headrests made for our 2004 TL yet, but you could check.

D'oh, I'm an idiot. Would be cheaper to get the job custom done though, depending on what brand you use. What brand are the screens?

I actually considered that, but I already have a 15" laptop that has a DVD player and frankly, to watch a movie in the car, it's a pain in the rear. You have to hold it in your lap, and it gets hot on the bottom, and needs an AC adapter if you don't want to rely on the battery (maybe 2-3 hours), and is obviously a theft risk (highly portable item). Not to mention the idea of letting my 6 year old daughter hold a $2000 laptop is just not a good idea.

We bought our headrest DVD system for our two kids (boy and girl) so they can watch movies and/or play the PS2 back and forth from grandma's house (or on vacation). They are five years apart in age and never prefer the same movies or PS2 games, so having just a single central DVD unit would have been nonstop arguing from the back seat. Plus, I prefer the 2 screen setup much more than the big DVD blisters installed on the roof that block your rearview mirror when in use.

i have 2 headrest 7" each custom installed into my headrest, it can be done, didnt seem that hard for my local audio shop to do it..they hooked up an xbox in the trunk and a ps2 under the passenger seat...total job done is 1100, that includes the 2- 7" headrest, 2 power invertor, cables, labor, and labor for taking the xbox apart and moving the controller port to the side panel(panel that is next to the driver and passenger seat) inside the car...i provided the xbox and ps2...i got this done 3 weeks after i bought my car back in november

Yes, this is the setup I want. DO they take a leather sample or how do they match it up completely? I want it to be able to have 2 inputs, seoerate for each screen. I want it to be able to play PS2 games and each person has own monitor, this would be sick. Your $1500 was labor and tax included?

Looks good, but the screens seem to be pointed upwards. I would expect them to be hard to see. Especially, for kids in the back seat.
