Hey i was wondering if i get a Base Model TL with no NAVI
can i install a touch screen Navi/DVD player to the car and how would it look like.

Yes, but it would be a pain in the ass to do. Just buy one that has a navi.

The best part of getting the Navi is that you'll never be amongst the 10's of 1000's who didn't that wound up looking back afterwards banging their heads into the wall wishing they had.

Why do you think the vast majority of used 3G TL's out there on the market are non-NAV units?

I think the biggest question is - Is the TL you are looking at 6MT? If so I would grab it regardless because they are rare.

My 6MT is non-navi and I don't regret one bit. I know I would never use it. My dad's Benz has one and he never uses it. If you travel a lot, that's a whole new story then.

 

I'm asking myself the same thing while looking for the replacement to my flooded/totaled out 05 ABP/Camel 6-speed Navi. If I weren't so bent on the navi now, after owning one, I'd probably get this:

They're asking about 18.5k (only has ~36k miles!) but I told the guy it's not going to happen unless they can get it to me for 14k which is what I got in my payout - he said they could do it for $16k, so if that's what you want do it!!!

It can be done but it's not cheap. Upwards of 2K if the pricing hasn't changed since the last time I checked. There's a guy named Martin who does them; he sells the conversion kits and parts on ebay. I can't remember his name exactly...

 

In that link, on picture 1 of 9...see that 2001 MDX sitting there? That's my mom's. Just happened to be there for its 140k service when they shot this. I remember seeing that blue TL in front (since I have an 05' SSM TL for myself).
