I have the Katana - it works great with the TL's bluetooth, but lacks some common features (for example: no video recording or mp3 player). None of that really mattered to me, but if those type of features hold value to you it might not be the right phone for you. Otherwise it has been a great phone.

I would go with the RAZR of those choices. I have a RAZR...BUT it does not allow you to transfer the entire phonebook. It does allow you to transfer each contact individually though. I wish it transferred the entire phonebook, this is a new fearure I liked about the '07. Oh well, it works flawlessly with everything else.

I got the samsung M610 a couple weeks ago. I had to special order it over the phone because they don't carry it in the stores.

Amazing phone! I'm so happy that I was patient enough to order it. It pairs really well to the car (shows signal strength and battery). All around cool phone. Super thin, not a bad camera and just cool.

Thanks for the feedback guys...

Bryon..I love the Treo..it just I really don't need a pda type phone. One of my close friends has it and he always breaks the screen. He's on his 6th Treo this year..Crazy

07WDP-Yeh the phone is SICK..My friend showed it to me at Sprint. its like the thinest phone to date.

God-Yeh I rarely use those feature..But its cool to have it though. My Sanyo has those options minus the MP3 and bluetooth

Mike-I was looking at the Krazer too..But are the Razer and Krazer the same phone..Just one smaller than the other

Lembow and jmika-Im leaning towards the Razer right now...For the price(29bucks) and the color looks like Anthracite

well I think it might be the Razer
The razer is cheaper(29bucks) and the shell has a Anthracite type color..So it matches the car nice

jmaikamon, how do you transfer individually?

Also, someone said they got a response from Motorola about a software update for the RAZR which allows it to use import phonebook feature, but nobody knows how to get the update yet.

All you have to do is pull up the number you want to transfer then open the menu for that number and hit "send" and on the HFL you say "receive." It will say "one contact received." It is literally that easy. It even tells you after you send that number if there are multiple numbers under that contact. Lets say you transfer a number and it has a work, cell, and home number. It will say each type work, cell, and home individually so you can tag each one for the voice recognition. Then you can name each one eg: "mom work", "mom cell", and "mom home."
I haven't heard about a software update for the phone. If you find that its true don't forget to pass it on. I think a lot on people on here has RAZRs.

ShyGuy-When I bought my TL they misplace the DVD for my car. They even try ed a 2007 disk but It didn't work.It sucks because I had to come back when they find the disk or get a new one. But it was cool...They needed to fix some scratches so I had to go back regardless. last week I had time off work and finally pick up the Disk.

So a 8801 and a M

Im gonna check them out

Well the Samsung A900M Blade from sprint is a great phone and it works very well with the HFL, just make sure they are not giving you the older A900, since they do not work well with the HFL.

Where is "send" on the menu? On number phonebook menu, do I click "edit"? There is a "share Phonebook Entry" that if I click it, it brings up a "Object Exchange" menu and brings up "HandsFreeLink TM" which is the car. Is that where you are talking about? Then just click the phone voice or the navi voice on the steering wheel and say "receive"? Thanks and I'll let you know what I hear back from Alltel.

Yep. Send is on the phone. After you pull up the number you want open up the menu for that number that allows you to send message, delete, edit, etc. The last choice is send.

Found it. On Alltel, it is "Share Phonebook Entry" and apparently you have to do the car portion first for me (ie. Phonebook, Receive Contact, and then "Share Phonebook Entry").

Still no word back from Alltel.

Thanks

have you had any problems using the bluetooth, i.e. phantom ringing, can't hang up phone from HFL, dropped calls when transferring to call-waiting.

I would suggest the samsung A900M blade, it is a much better phone than the Razer and works very well with the HFL.

Motorla Slvr works great!

I have Cingular service here in North Texas and my phone is the Motorola Slvr - I have not had one problem at all with the bluetooth - it connects with my car automatically and has worked perfectly. I am very happy with it!

I like the Sanyo SCP-8400. It's got Bluetooth, a removable SD so you can load it up with 1G of MP3s or pix, and ReadyLink (Sprint's Push-to-Talk service). It works with the TL's Hands-free system.

The Sanyo M1 is a little pricier, but it has stereo speakers, and advanced BlueTooth so you can stream the music out to wireless headphones, a stereo or maybe the 4G TL in 2009! It also has the ReadyLink PTT.

For the Sanyo SCP-8400, the first time I dial-out, it sometimes doesn't engage the car's speakerphone. So even though I used the HFL to voice-dial, the phone's receiver gets used (so there's a quiet voice coming from the phone-holster!). If I press END on the HFL and say Redial, it usually dials correctly the 2nd time over the speakerphone. It's always a great way to start a conversation with "did you just call?" This problem seems to happen more often if I used the phone's Bluetooth to connect to another device (a PC) before I use it with the car.

In theory, when the above happens I thought I could say something like "Transfer" to pickup the call on the HFL, but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

As for answering calls, no problem, though the 06 TLs only show the phone-number in the caller ID, not a name.

No experience with call waiting (I don't get that many calls!) and luckily no phantom ringing,

Overall still an easier experience than the speakerphone on the SCP-8400, which has its own voice-dialing, because all the buttons for HFL are on the wheel, not the phone.
