I don't see it. IMO it's a waste. If you're looking to blow some money. Take a visit you your nearest food bank or rescue mission and make a donation and bless somebody.

I thought putting monitors in headrests was a good idea if you have a kid that needs something to do on long trips. I found old and I mean old 5.6 inch monitors that I got off of ebay for 50 bucks. They are way to thick for the headrests but the reason I bought them is they plugged right into the funky plug on my nav2go DVD player. Not the best looking things but for 50 bucks, it is ok and the bottom line is they work and my son loves it. Here is the DIY thread if you want to do it. I am going to find 7 inch monitors in the near future and make the screens flush like they should be. I hope this helps you out.

This thread is setup for you to get picked on man. I am surprised everyone is being so nice to you. But I guess it's so they don't get heat from the mods. Really, you're asking for it so much, I wonder if you seriously even own a TL. I kinda heard people are known to exaggerate on the internet.

So you have a lot of money, a TL and you're young? Lucky. OK so you think 4 LCD screens is what's gonna get you the girls? LOL! OK you have a lot to learn grasshopper. If you had skills you could get all the girls you want without a TL and not a lot of money. If those are the types you attracting, then those are the same insecure types (like yourself). Realize that now or you'll be in for headaches.

And money come, money go. You got some now? Be smart and invest and you will stay rich. You have a long life ahead of you, this ain't your retirement Or you'll end up like Michael Jackson. Oh ya, I know you'll say you'll do what you want with your money. By all means please do. We are all looking for consumers to stimulate the economy, be our guest.

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm sure most of us make good money out here since we could buy these cars but I doubt any of have a problem of having too much. Sounds like you are a richboy. Ask Bill gates and Warren Buffet what they do with what they can't spend...

That's what I was thinking when i was reading the responses. Oh man...headrests in the rear seat headrests. I've been laughing the whole time i've been reading the responses to this thread. Especially the whole getting girls thing, my girlfriend knows almost nothing about cars but I'm sure she knows that monitors in the rear headrests serve no point.

Now that is asking for a death wish. Sevas = Deathwish. Sevas rims have been know to shatter and the car go spinning. One guy with a BMW 7 series had his rim shatter going 75 MPH an hour, he swerved across 3 lanes and was able to manage to pull the car over into the grass. The shattered rims caused about 5K+ in damage, and the government is still investigating the company. Go with a better company, like RON JON, IFORGED, HRE, or Asanti

If you want to attract the girl's have a car that isn't all show and no go. You need to balance it out a bit. You yourself have just stated that you are not rich. Why not use the money you work hard for, for something better, maybe go for that suspension now before tein updates their pricing to tack on another 300 or so dollars onto the Tein SS, and another 100 on the EDFC. Wait until you need new tires to get a new Rim/Tire combo. Do some stuff that will help out with performance and gas consumption, such as a AEM cold Air Intake, Weight reduction, etc and spend money on stuff that is worth it.

If you want an simple answer to your original question, monitors have been installed only once in the visors, and many times in the front head-rests. The rears have not been done yet, for the point that they serve no purpose.

yet this is your car, and I have no right to condemn you from doing such at thing. All I advise is that when you install the monitors in the rear head-rests, that you use proper wiring that is shielded and grounded properly, and that you tap into clean power sources for you electrical projects.

I think so, that only one person did it, and that may have been on the 2nd gen forums at that, not the 3rd gen. Contact excelerate and mr. HeelToe in the blackmarket section, they can hook you up with the stuff you need.

I have 2 headrest monitors and I play a lot of music video DVDs. I can see the rear headrests being for show, but for a daily driver you're going to get a lot more hate and trouble. So even if you have the money it's not worth it. I even got lip from a couple of people I know for putting just 2 headrest monitors in.

beautiful, now i may have toooo go with the alpines lol.. well worth the money i imagine? and being u have them tilted upwards a little bit.. does that make it a little bit more difficult to see the screen at a good angle or it doesnt matter?

no trust me. They are very clear. The shape of the headrest tilts them up a little but u don't notice it when watching. Screens don't cost much; its the labor

Alpines, nice. That most have cost you. You almost sound like you regret putting them in. I knew these screens would be a tight fit. I measured and remeasured and they barely will fit.

My 7" screens are bargain LCDs. Paid $180 for both and another $20 for a dual signal input/amplifier. They look just like the Navi screen. I would have gotten a 6" screen because it's a better fit, but they are acutally more hard to come by and some are even MORE expensive. Most on the market are 7"-9".

I thought of buying readymade ones because they are so cheap nowadays, but decided against it because 1) They are disproportionate and the leather grain/color may not match 2) Because they may not be the same thickness and shape and don't tilt. I NEED headrests that tilt, I am so used to it. 3) And the most important reason: There is a "notch" on the front of the seat that the headrest fits into. A replacement headrest will not sink into the notch.

After looking at your pics Skrew I am 2nd guessing my install.......maybe 7" is too big?? The picture will look great, but aesthetically it's kinda disproportioned.

i can see where you're coming from about it looking too big but it fits just perfect really. alpine colors are so vibrant and brilliant; it's what the shop suggested to me really and i am happy with it. it all depends on what monitors you get. the place i got it done does a lot of this work so i value their opinion more than mine. well they told me they hadn't seen it look any better on another vehicle. they said they really like how it flushes aesthetically and the colors as well with the TL. it looks stock basically.
just go with 7, i dont think you'll find a good 6". and buying premade headrests decreases the value of the car imo, especially tl-s headrests. 7inch is a little big but your passengers will appreciate it
plus the alpines come with wireless headphones if you didn't notice in the pics
