Question Sub encloser question

Ok so I've got this big box that's ported for my Kicker 12" L7 but want to use something smaller. I've seen a few pics of TL's with these enclosures that looked as though they came from the factory. Where can I find boxes that will fit to the sides of the trunk or to the back wall and still give me space for my daughters stroller and stuff. Also is their a way I can put the speaker in the back deck and have the ports on the sides? The box then would be made right behind the seat.

For side rear:

You can search for fiberglass enclosures to find some.

There is a 10" one on ebay. I just bought a 12" from a place called audio integrations. You can also search on unclad4 to find some that are made by him.

As for the back deck, you can replace the stock sub or build a box that ports out the armrest hole or even through the stock sub hole if you are creative enough.

first thing you should do is get a sub that works in smaller enclosures.

Kickers like big boxes.

Yeah I mean the enclosure I have now is big but it's a complete square so I can take it out when I need to but I would like to have something that can stay in.

Get smaller subs.

2 8's in the right box should fit snug against the seat back

Dude those Sundown SA-8"s seem pretty bad ass! 400watts rms and 2 of those would be enough boom to stay loud and clear and have plenty of room for the strollers.

Get a custom enclosure. The right sub in the right box with the right amp will do wonders in that car.

Or, so I've heard.

Yeah def. get your enclosure made to specs b/c most of the pre-fab. boxes are tuned WAY to high so most anything will sound shitty

In comparison to the quotes I got a few weeks ago, I'd say it's a bargain, I go in tomorrow morning and I'll ask about the air space, but it's almost spot on for my woofer

I'm getting one from a company called audio integrations, going in tomorrow morning to get it installed, there are other companies that make them as well which were mentioned above

I would say that anything fiberglass under $400 is pretty cheap if you haven't worked with fiberglass before and don't know what you are getting into... or you don't want the smell in your house/car for a few weeks.

Compared to a square MDF box, it is expensive, but totally different animals.

Mine at Audio Integrations is 1.22 CuFt without sub displacement. I put a Q in mine at 1200-1300 watts - dial in not done yet. Had to sand down the opening to 11.25" to fit the Q, but that is my issue - I knew that the box was only 11.00".

I have mine in the car with the sub, but need to weld up my amp rack and powder coat it. I plan on posting pics when I am done. I got 4 sets of golf clubs in there this weekend with this enclosure and could have gotten 2 or 3 more - saves plenty of space and slams.
