what i meant by match is if say sub can handel 300watts peak for example paying the extra money for one that can put out 1000watts but what about cooling if i see two amp say mtx that are identical with the exception that one is fan cooled buts cost more and is bigger should i go for the one with fan cooling i have notice about a even number of amps that have cooling with those that dont so far so just looking at that fact to me not knowing much about amps that is isnt absolutly neccicary or they would prettymuch all have them

If you arent upgrading your mids and highs, then don't go over 800-1000 watts. If you do, it will be strongly out of balance. I made this mistake, and now I need to upgrade all my other speakers! I have 4000watts of bass(subs & amp) with the factory speakers for highs. W/ volume on 3, you cant hear the treble or mids, just tons of crunchy trunk-rattling bass. Overkill-

I'm not sure which Kappa Perfect or how many subs you'll be using but it's better to have a little more power over the RMS than not having enough. A little more power will give you a tighter/cleaner bass. Some weak amps will choke/clip which creates distortion. This can also overheat the voice coil leading to premature failure or a blown speaker. I think the Kappa Perfect has a high max rating so it may be able to handle the heat for extended periods.
Here are some basic features to look for on a sub amp:

Brand and previous customer ratings or comments
Price or Hot deal
4 and 2 ohm stable, rated RMS power based on your speaker(s) wiring/set up.
Speaker- and preamp-level inputs
Bass boost or EQ
Selectable subsonic filter
Size/dimensions depending on your install or space limitation
Signal-Sensing Turn-On
Turn-on delay to prevent a thump or pop when you start your car
Internal, variable-speed cooling fan if you plan on encasing it during your install

JL audio is nice. Not very cheap, but worth it imo. I've got the 500/1 monoblock with 2 10w3v2 in a prowedge box. Sounds great, except for the crappy oem speakers.

Zapco...iForce line. Zapcos are one of, if not the best amps out there. The iForce line in very affordable and better than others top of the line stuff. Their customer support is excellent as well www.zapco.com

I second the comment about keeping things in balance...it is easy to drown out the stock mids and highs. I did, and had to upgrade amps, speakers, etc... to get everything balanced out.

Good luck with the upgrade
