Stock Sub Blown

Hey guys, my stock sub has blown. Are there any drop in subs that would fit in the stock location, while also using the stock amp? I dunno if I want another factory sub, because I'm afraid that one will blow too.

Yeah i feel your pain my friend. Truth is if you are throwing a lot of bass at the sub u may want to consider going aftermarket. 1 sub is really all it takes, and you'll more thank likely come away satisfied. The factory sub bottoms out at around 40 hz or so. That being said look at maybe another 8 or 10 inch sub(in the trunk). I say 8 inch so you can get good bass with out having to worry as much about rattle. If do choose to go that route don't cheap out get a good quality sub.

Believe me I feel your pain i am trying to come up with a good system while not adding on too much weight to the car.

go aftermarket. Plenty of options if you need the space still. You'll get a world of difference

Alright, let's say I buy a 10 inch sub and enclosure, can I use the stock amp to power it?

So would I have to bypass the factory amp? Also, can I still use the "subwoofer" setting on my navi to control the level with an aftermarket sub? Sorry, im not really good at figuring out car audio.

Does anyone know if this sub would work in the factory location with the factory amp since it's a 2 Ohm Sub?

Well I don't have extra cash to buy a sub/box/amp right now. I can either just buy another factory sub or an aftermarket one. Only reason I'm iffy on just buying another stock sub is that i'm afraid it might blow again.

save.

Also, the inexpensive way to add a sub is to use a LOC(line out converter) you will connect it to the stock subs posi and neg. wires.
this way the stock amp is still powering the speakers and you can still control your aftermarket sub with the nav sub settings
