I connected a system in my 05 acura TL non -nav using the stock amp outputs its seems everytime I turn it up and I pass vol 34 it overheats and my alpine pdx4.100 amp protects it self i dont know what to do it sounds really good but i cant turn it up all the way, I have 2 sets of infinity perfect speakers and also a subwoofer.

IK would appreciate feedback thanks.

the factory amp distorts@ 36+ since you are using it as a pre-amp im not too surprised. you could just not turn it up all the way. if your alpine didnt auto shut off you probably would have blown it and your speakers

I would try using a LC7 from audio control instead of the stock amp(it will sound better!!)
Check it out Click here Then click on the video. Those pdx are good amps, 89 efficient and draw less power than the class a/b amps and produce better sound quality.

i picked up an LC8 from a local car audio shop and it made a world of difference and you are able to control the output levels to suit your needs. i took out the factory amp all together and have the front tweeters and doors summed to one channel and it sounds great. i also installed some infinity kappa components in the front, kappa in back and a p3SD410 in the trunk. All running off the LC8. If you want more info let me know.
