Sony Ericsson K750i "transfer to phone" problem

Lately I've been having problems with my HFL transferring calls to my phone handset when I try to make outgoing calls. This is really aggravating and I think it stems back to a firmware update that I did a month or two ago. I have since updated my firmware again to an even newer version and I was hoping that it would resolve this issue. It didn't. I've also tried re-pairing the phone to the car, but that didn't work either.

Has anyone with this phone or similar SE models (W800?) had a similar problem? Is this what I get for messing with a phone that worked? ;-)

Thanks!

yup this is a known issue with the newer firmwares... i feel so dumb for updating in the first place. i was hoping the newest firwmare that came out a few days ago would fix it, but no.

i'm contemplating paying the davinci fee for their third party flashing to get back to one that still works properly with the HFL.

hey there everyone,

i went ahead and paid 12.99 for a davinci credit and downgraded my phone. i also flashed it to w800. i know this means that i can't upgrade on SE's website anymore, but the better music player and the flight mode are worth the tradeoff. plus i can't upgrade b/c apparently the newer firmwares just wont work right with the car.

SO, now i have k750i with older (by a few months) w800 firmware (2 revisions back) that still works with my car properly.

the word from Acura is there is a newer version of HFL out, but they are not releasing it yet. They know that more and more new phones are not working with the current HFL version, so it only a matter of time.

Actually, you can use the service. For the same price as ONE Davinci log, you can order the service cable off eBay,(the supplied DCU-60 willl not work for this) and then DL the "free" versions of SEtool and Sonics, allowing you to do anything DaVinci does and more, for free. Just edit the CDA to which ever region you choose, and then the SE Update Utility will allow updating -only to the newest version though so I'm guessing you don't want this yet.

I only know this because I just recently went through this process twice in the last month, with two diff. k750i's. I bricked one, and while imaptiently waiting for the cable got another k750 from a friend, and then re-flashed the EROM, GDFS, Main, and FS on the old phone using the described utilities and voila, now my girlfriend has a really nice phone of which she will never use half the functions.

I would strongly discourage anyone from using DaVinci, or TMS, as there is NO support and much of their revenue depends on the shaky process failing and the customers, being without phone and imaptient (as most types who would do such a mod are) buying MORE credits to try and fix the device. Everything you need is readily available for FREE, aside from the cable. DaVinci and the like are for those who REALLY have no idea what they are doing, but want to act like they do. (I'm not saying anyone here is like that...)

I have the latest version, and bluetooth transfers between my Mac and phone work flawlessly but have yet to pair my car and phone since the event. Not good to hear this news, will report back if things go well.

BTW: Here is something interesting; pairing between the k750 and other Bluetooth phones seems to work well, but whenever I try to pair/transfer between my two k750s---they will flash a white screen and then reboot themselves. I've tried this between three diff. k750s, with three diff. firmware revisions and they all behave identically.

hm yeah, i looked into that a bit. i was kind of concerned with SEtool, but in the future i'll probably get a cable if i want to upgrade or change.

I'm curious on how Acura would update our HFL software. I suppose it would warrant a visit to the dealer, right?

I'm about fed up with the phone not working right, so I may look into this SE tool with that cable, or the Davinci thing (which doesn't work on my laptop at work since we go through a proxy -- fun!).

I'm glad I started this thread though so that others can know it's a problem and not just sit there wondering if it was just my phone like I was doing.

Also, to confirm, the "R1AA008" version of the k750's firmware is teh latest that will work with the HFL, right?
