You probably will need to send it in.

Do a search in this forum for "Alpine Navi" and you will get a bunch of threads to read.

For $100 you can get a repaired unit from Alpine. Do it.

Hi, could you tell me how you got to the DVD unit. I tired the other day but I could take off the liner. Do I need to take off the black plastic truck loading protector in the middle on the bottom? It seem like I could take of the liner that surrounds the DVD drive but I try and nothing happen. I don't wanna break anything so I didn't apply a lot of force. Please help if you could. Thanks.
