well I think I may have damaged my sub but I don't know for sure yet. I took my car to the local audio shop and he said there's an air leak in my box which I don't feel. He said it dosent sound damaged and I should give it a week to break in.

well..heres the backing...its like 35 or less degrees here in my town,so i had to use my heat gun to regulate the temp, because i dont have a heated garage,so i hope it dosent get brittle from getting too hot...i will find out,but i think ill be ok,i have to let it cure inside the house where my dad keeps the house at a brisk 85 degrees all year round.

if all goes will i will try to finish it by friday.

It's not 35 degrees in San Diego.

Looks like the project is starting to take form.

i wanna be done before i go visit family in TX this weekend.

WELLLLL...its just about done..i did a test run and it sounds GREAT...now i see why everyone wants travis' box..

anyway, its kinda ugly looking right now cause it was a first for me..so i have some shaping to do on the outside and then ill be able to carpet it. it wont be AS nice as uncald4's box,but its not real bad....ill post pics later.

ready for carpet....like i said before...its not quite as nice at uncald4's boxes, but it DEFINATLY did the job..it sounds amazing, and dosent look half bad.

not too bad for my first fiberglass box.. i def would never do it again unless i HAD to.

also, someone asked how much it cost in total...i spent about 40$ for this whole process, but many hours.

^lol...

i lost tension in the upper right corner,so i lost that curve..so instead,i decided to round it off to contour with the sub,so it looks like that kind of on purpose.

Well... I think you've got some really talented hands. I think it turned out great. Is the sound really that much better? Do you think you got the inside volume close to what JL recommends?

This accomplishment is very inspiring, but I don't have the patience for something like this. I think I'm gonna just give Travis a call.

haha ^ i recommend calling him rather than making your own,if u dont mind the extra spending.

i got the dimensions pretty dead on.

im just worried about this tear around the rim of the sub...

Looks good, should build some sort of amp rack against the side by the sub to mount the amp will look alot cleaner. But looks good no doubt.

Very nice, that little tear could become a problem in the long run, and if thier is way to much bass it will become overstressed, i wouldn't go more then half just be on the safe side.

Contact JL about the cost of replacing the surround for the sub might be able to have it done for less then 50.00 plus shipping....

oh! I got an idea. if you want it showing why dont you build a small amp rack on the other side for the amp an have a plexiglass cover on it to just show the amps an not the wires?
