Cam Install ?'s
I'll be adding a BU cam and would like to use my iphone/ipad for external A/V. I'm looking at the Dom's unit or NavTool and, from what I've seen, looks like both need a switch of some type for external AV. True? Does the NavTool sit behind the HU or in the trunk like the Dom's?
Has anyone else been successful at this?
Lastly, are these cameras still available? I can't find them anywhere? Japanese tsunami/reactor issues maybe?
Black MS AC24R-N / ONLY 70 degrees of view
Silver MS AC14R-N / 130 degrees of view

For those those going to do this, its possible to run the power wire to the fuse box without removing the rear seat. I suggest removing the trunk cosmetics that cover the speakers. Run the power wire up there to get it over to the driver's side. You would then have to pop off the plastic trim between the rear seatback and the door opening. Then just fish the wire through where the other bundle of wires goes through. Then you would have to run the power wire under the plastic trim on the driver's side all the way to the fuse box. This might save some install time.

In general, CCD is better than CMOS - more lines of resolution, better color and light sensitivity (but not always). I would suggest searching the internet - lots of technical information out there. Here's a reasonable summary I used (ended up buying a CCD):

` . ' . SUV haterrr
I'll revive the old thread. I've had the "Wendy's" camera on my car for 5 years or so. I'm afraid it will fail soon- I see some condensation inside. I bought a different camera on ebay, but it is larger and will require drilling new holes in the car. I'd prefer to avoid it. Anyone managed to locate the same camera we used back then? Or should I try to blow dry and seal my old camera?
Looks like the camera is Misumi MO-AC713. Can't find one for sale.

The only wires I have are the Plug and PLay harness (I know that plugs into the back of the navu unit), red and black wires to a toggle switch, a +12V and ground to a power wire, a blue wire that triggers video 2, and a white wire. I assume the black from the power wire and the white wires have to be grounded?
I do not have two white wires or a green wire.
