Question on DIY AUX input

I was reading in this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117588 that explains how to wire a DIY aux if you have XM. Thats exactly what I'm looking for but I don't have XM. I have an 03 accord with navi, and no factory XM.

My question is, I know the wires I'd need to splice to get my left and right channels, but I need to know what wire is the trigger wire to tell ithe HU that I have something attached to the aux input. Right now if I hit the aux button it doesn't do anything.

Thanks in advance for any help

you would need to emulate the XM radio/cassette/cd changer that honda uses. basically it's not possible unless you have the add on already which the TL comes with

Ohh well, was hoping one of the wires was just a trigger wire.

fiveohhh... welcome to the forum.. you should check for aftermarket ipod integration unit that has AUX input for your 03 accord. Do a forum search for USASpec, Blitzsafe or PIE.

I have USASpec currently and when i press "CD change button", it will switch to AUX input (can be RCA input or ipod)
