Angry PLEASE HELP! 07 TL typeS has loud HUM in aftermarket sub system!

Has anyone else run into this problem??

I took my 07 TL type S to Discount Auto Sound in VA Beach for an aftermarket sound system install.
My equipment consists of:
JL 6" mids/highs all around (component up front/coax in rear)
JL 10W6
JL 500/1 for the sub
JL 300/4 for mids/highs
Rockford 360.1 for signal
1 large BatCap to keep it tight
Here is my problem. When the car is off, the system is fine, but once I start the car I get a loud low frequency hum. The weird thing is, DAS of Va Beach seems to have isolated it to the dome light circuit?? Because when you open the door, the hum goes away. They also stated that they spoke with someone at Rockford and Rockford told them that this is an issue related to the Acura TL. So, my question is:
1) is anyone else experiencing this?
2) if so, what can be done about it?
At this point the shop has essentially given up, and I am about to lose my mind. I have to chose to either let them pull the dome light fuse, or give up the system all together.
I know there are some very similar systems out there..
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!

that is the active noise canceling system, you need to disconnect the rear microphone for it. Im suprised that they didnt get that answer from RF someone on here had the same problem when it first came out and a tech at RF was the one that clued him in on what was causing it

This is soooooooooooooooo weird,

Umm, you say when they open the door the hum goes away? Is it the same door that they ran the wiring by? (underneath the door sill).....but I'm pretty sure the wiring is loose, thus the humming, or the static noise when the car is on, it vibrates, the wire moves...hum appears...

Did the shop installed components speakers on the rear two doors?

Good luck with the fix, and this shop needs to re-evaluate itself as a car audio installer.

What does a dome light fuse has to do with the wiring of a sound system?!?!?!

EDIT: MWalsh9152, good point!!! forgot about that!

Why don't you just install a ground loop isolator on the RCA's at the Amps?

Now I understand, I learned something new, cool...

Apparently, your guys at the shop did read RF thread since they are suggesting to pull the dome light fuse, as this fuse also controls the mic in the rear....

But a silly question, how does the active noise reduction system works?

Thanks man.. I just called the shop and told him to d/c the rear mics. I hope it works! Do you think he will have to do the front mics too? I don't want to lose my bluetooth phone capabilities. I travel for a living and I practically live in my TL. Losing the phone function would be a killer!

The noise cancellation is a separate system from the bluetooth so the mics are separate, you should be good to go once they disconnect it. Several other members have had the same issue...good luck!

from what I read somewhere on here you only have to disconnect the rear ANC mic....someone else said that they simply disconnected the ANC at the source...I think he said that its located beneath the center channel speaker....though at this point in your instalation I would say that it would be easier to disconnect the rear mic, I believe that Alon said its a green plug

Godizus is right, the hands free mic is completely seperate from the ANC mics

Also .....make sure you post up some pictures when you get it back!

You have to disconnect BOTH the front and rear mics for this Active Noise Crap. There is a mic in the front where the lights and sunroof controls are and one in the rear with the lights.
I went through this for 2 straight days with the shop that did my system trying to figure this thing out. Once you disconnect both mics, the stereo will be silent---no more noise.

Well guys.. that did it! The noise is gone! Thank you for all of your help!!!
I still have to bring the car back.. again.. (that makes 4) The sound quality still has a long way to go. I managed to adjust the gains on the amps which helped, but I couldn't tweak all of the levels on my own because I can't seem to find the 360.1 or the knob! The sub also needs to be turned around (they have it firing into the side wall instead of into the open chamber we created specifically for it to resonate) and they also have to repair the broken clips on the backs of my front seats (don't even ask, I still haven't figured out how they managed to break those clips). Regardless, once it's all said and done, I am certain that it will sound phenomenal. When it's done, I will post some pics. Keep in mind, that my goal was a completely stealth install. Don't expect to see a circus.. you'll be lucky to find the clown making all that noise. lol

Thanks bro..
Well.. I guess headrest monitors would make sense.. IF I WERE HAVING MONITORS PUT IN!!! My guess is that they either started doing HR monitors on the wrong car, or they tried to pull the panels out of curiosity and screwed it up. Either way, I wouldn't have been upset if the manager didn't first try to deny it and tell me that the seats were like that when I brought it in. What a friggin joke!

Uhmm, yeah. Or, maybe they just broke.

It's been known to happen. Could be somebody caught the seat edge when they were inside the car doing the install and never knew it. There's not a lot of "work" room in the back seat of these cars.

Anyhow, fixing the GD seat back clips can be a PITA. Once the clip breaks the whole "clip assembly" is usually shot - the clip, the pin and the attachment to the seat frame. Make sure all the peices of the clip are replaced.

I had the exact same issue. I ran a new trigger wire and connected it to a different wire near the fuse box and issue went away.

Thanks man.. being a former installer myself I made sure the shop went through all of the basics first (-from ground loops to bad cables to the remote trigger etc.) That's what made it so frustrating at first, because nothing was making sense.) Finally I turned to our freinds here in the acurazine community and they saved the day with the information about the microphones in the car.

cant believe people actually get rid if ANC feature.

I owned TL 05 and traded it with 08 TL-S, I love that the cabin is really quiet compared to TL05.

Sound ylsystem isn't the greatest but I wouldnt spend thousands of dollars for aftermarket parts.. And no ANC?

F**k that

if you want to upgrade the subwoofer you have to disable the ANC

I dont see much from the ANC, if anything my 06 had less road noise than my new tls

its funny. my friend works at an audio shop, he had to call me for help the other day on a TL-S install... i fixed it in 5 seconds..

its only when the door closes, because you are not supposed to be driving with the door open.. the ANC simply makes the sub hum lightly, to "cancel" exterior noise... i think its

I thought the mic by the sunroof control was for "voice" bluetooth and NAVI ?

ANC doesn't do crap. As one of the other posters mentioned, older cars without the ANC are not any louder. According to Acura it is intended to reduce exhaust noise (not tire or wind noise) and only reduces noise in the rear of the cabin. Disconnect it and move on with your life.
