Phone HFL works even after the key is out

In mid call I arrived at my destination and switched off the ignition and even took out the key. Still my phone was working fine on the HFL system (without any display since my key was out) then just before leving out I used the phone button on steering to trasfer and worked too. I did not know this can happen.

How long does this connection last? What's your phone model?

Thanks.

Rets, I do not remember how long but it was more than half a minute since I was getting all my stuff from the passenger seat. Currently I'm using Moto RAZR V3. I never noticed this with m SE T68i though. However, I do not think it's anythign to do with the phone though.

It will work for 10 mins and is not phone specific.

I noticed this too. I was on the phone with someone and got home, turned off the car, got out and could still hear the other person on the phone from outside.

cTLgo, you're right about this issue. It seems pretty common. My phones, T610 & K700i, do have the similar issue, and their connection to TL will be disconnected after I walk out of the range of HFL.

I thought it was 30 minutes, not 10 minutes.

Correct, if a call is in progress and you turn off the car, the HFL will work for 10 mins. But if you turn off the car, and try to place a call, to my knowledge this will not work.

Also, If you walk out of range of the car (up to 30 ft, sometimes less depending on signal) the phone and car will disconnect HFL.

I'm pretty sure its 10 mins, not 100% sure, but I'm about 95% sure it says that in the manual, Ron A probably knows for sure, he has the manual permanently downloaded into his mind

I thought I read 30 minutes in the manual too. Maybe it's different between the '05 and '04.
