I don't know where your subs are now, but try to position them such that they are facing the rear bumper, close to the trunk, around a foot or two away from the trunk lid. Bass isn't extremely directional, but the sub's position and direction can have an effect. To me, this appears to have more of an effect with sealed enclosures.
You could also try removing the rear seat-back, or building a new enclosure from a maniquin and dressing it up in a suit. Of course, then the ladies will be checking out your rider, and think of you as nothing more than a chauffeur..

they are two 12 inch sealed rear firing about 300 watts each. I know subs arent directional its not the point thoe. If the soundwaves have no where to pass u r not gonna hear shit
yea the sub is out already im using the rear fill maybe i should turn it down a little probably would hear more bass then. and yea i gotta have the armrest down to be good. as far as the trunk the problem is there is that covering so nothing really passes up there at least not much. its just i cant get it to pump my chest
and the way it looks like they do reach max excursion. maybe i should get better subs right now i have the infinity reference and planing to upgrade to the kappa perfect vq's.

What about going with a ported enclosure?
I had 2 MTX 6000 10" and 2 MBQuart 12" which were decent. My last sub was an older single 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect with 350 watts rms. That sub, by far, was the best sounding sub I had (I'm sure there are better out there). It was very efficient and go pretty loud. All enclosures were sealed
I think you'll be happy with the Perfects. I'm sure some eDesign users will talk you into getting 13Kv or 13Ov series subs. I'm leaning towards that brand myself lol... But good luck, bro.
BTW...What kinda subs are in there now?

1 of my 3 jobs happens to be installing sound systems, and I also happen to own a 2006 TL. I have a single JL Audio 10" W7 in my trunk with a JL Audio 500/1 amplifier, and I garuntee it sounds cleaner, deeper, and louder than the majority of systems with 2 12" subs. I dont even fold down the armrest in the back because I don't hear that much of a difference. However, if you aren't hearing it very well, then you just need a new system because mine makes my brain rattle. I suggest moving to JL...they make extremely high quality products, and offer a 2 year warranty on all of their products so if you happen to blow it out, you're covered!
dynamat your trunk. have the whole trunk done will force all the bass throgh the rear seat. i have it done to mine and my sub hits alot harder. and it reduces trunk rattle.
USMC, Can you tell me more about your setup? Im a noob when it comes to subs and installations, except for the sub itself and a amp, what else do I need to install the system? and also will I be able to control the sub through the Navi screen?

I have 2 10" rockford subs that throw out 400w rms each in a ported box and 1 rockford amp running at about 1000rms pushing them.
The base is clean and clear. The factory sub is still sitting there and I have an amp rack that blocks the arm rest hole.
I actually need to turn down the base on the head unit as it does overkill the inside on certain songs.
I would thing you either should remove the stock sub and keep the arm rest down. If that doesn't help much then your sub may not be good enough and you may need to upgrade.
Also ensure you turned up both the bass and the subwoofer on the headunit as well. May sound like a stupid thing to mention but I'll mention it anyways.

its not that i dont hear it its actually very very loud but for some reason i think i could do more maybe the subs suck. even my hood rattles not the trunk only
im just sayin for that much what it does it doesnt really sound that loud. I feel it everywhere thoe. I used sound deadner everywhere the whole trunk the front doors rear deck anywhere i could put it.
i was thinking to bulid a box for only one 12 inch woofer ( jl audio w6v3 ) and one 8 inch in the stock location. having the 12 " firing trough the armrest, and use the 8" from 50 to 120 hz and the 12 from 25 to 50 or so with a little extra boost
any good 8 " woofer that would work good with what i have in mind ??
