Outside temp display slow to update
On these past few colder mornings, I have noticed that the outside temp display takes forever to get down to the correct temp, in fact sometimes it never does on my short commute to work. I keep my car garaged and when I get in it always shows around 60 degrees. Then I pull out into what I know is close to 40 degree weather and it slowly starts to go down a degree every minute or something like that. It takes me about 7-10 minutes to get to the office and by the time I get there it will say something like 55.
Anyone else experience this? It seemed to do a better job in the summer.

Mine as not as slow as your. My garage is heated and I keep it around 50f. So when I pull out from my 50F garage into the 10F weather, it take my display usually less than 5min to read correctly. It probably actually get there in about 2min.
I have a 06, so if there was a TSB I assume mine is corrected.

It looks like there is a TSB for the temp display being off by more than 3 degrees. However, it's not worth having the dash taken apart. Mine does actually get to the right temp eventually. I'll just live with it.
I just had my '05 serviced and they did the TSB fix for the three dashes for the outside temperature. Now it seems to be much more reactive to changes in temperature (and it seems to be pretty accurate). Before the fix it would take forever for the temperature readout to adjust when I pulled the car out of the garage.
A sidenote. After the fix I have a funny smell whenever the heat goes on. It seems like a cross between engine coolant and burning rubber (both of which are scaring me).

Just for your information, here's a thread about the temperature sensor logic and calibration procedures. The procedures may have changed slightly since this is for the 04 model, but the explanation should still be good.
