Non Navi to Navi convertion

Question to the pro's and experts out there. I own an 06 Tl and I would like to convert/intall the Navi system. Any suggestions or recommendations where should I go or any technician names that you know and can refer me to?

Thanks,

I just did the conversion this weekend. I'll send you more info later. Just to get started, look at this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/04-tl-acura-tl-non-navi-08-navi-conversion-739375/

I would suggest getting all 07-08 parts, b/c that's the latest technology for out cars. Where are you located btw??

Vehicle is located in VA but I am overseas and will return to US end of this month to have it done and deploy again.

Did you do it yourself or you had a tech help you with the upgrade? Do you recommend a Technician or know about places that can do it for me? I really don't have much time upon my return.

Thanks.

He frequently has complete conversion kits for sale on ebaY. And if you live in the NYC area, he'll do the install for $200

Aha another non-navi to navi conversion. Welcome to the club. i found all my parts at a used car parts dealer in connecticut. I paid 650 for all major parts except harness, and buttons. I got the harness from martin (hondacuratech) and he helped me install. if you go to car-parts.com like i did you can see all your local shops that have what your looking for and you can compare the prices

Can you give me the name, location and phone number for the place you got all your parts from? I'm in need of one more part.

Thanks.
I didn't do it myself, nor would I ever attempt to do something this complicated and involved. The name of the guy who did my installation is Martin. His phone number: 201-889-7012. His email: acurahondatech@gmail.com.

My suggestion to you would be to gather all the parts yourself: eBay and craigslist, along with junkyards are your best bets.

Let him do the installation as it is a 10/10 on being complicated. He said he has done this installation for people 40+ times.

Be patient, these parts are extremely hard to find, especially 07/08 parts. If you have any questions just ask. We will help you out.

Btw.... what year is your TL?

I'm looking to install a navi in my 06 tl as well. I'm thinking about installing the 07-08 navi. I'm not sure of what parts to get. Is there any list? I want to start buying the parts but not sure what to get. How much would it cost in total for parts and labor?

I made a DIY for this.. check it out -> https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/im-soo-excited-just-completed-my-non-navi-navi-conversion-diy-included-747456/

Martin is great, but if you live far from him like me you will need to install yourself.. if you ahve done an audio swap you can do this..

OP..... If you're looking for parts, here is one you definitely need http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182

That's the same price I paid for mine.

Depends where you live.. If you live in the Tristate area there is definitely someone. I can do it if you live in Florida and you gather all the parts..

i got the 06 screen and radio for 350 cdn. A junk yard has an 07 nav drive for relatively cheap, but i asked martin and he said that the 06 screen will be out of alignment.

What's the difference between the 06 screen and the 07 screen?

Thats pretty good if it is out of an 07-08.. you will still need the other parts listed in my DIY thread.. Those other parts could be up to another 100-300.00 .. not sure what this part is: DOME LIGHT UNIT PART NUMBER:83250SEP (is this the HFL?) .. Plus you will either need to make your own harness or buy the harness form Martin on ebay for another 400-500.00 ..
If you want to make your own harness make sure you get the plugs with the radio, navi screen and DVD unit..
