non navi to factory navi, what to do

Well I have all the hardware for my factory install, but am very nervous the more I talk to installers in the Denver area. Dan...k had his system installed by an installer in the Atlanta area. they charge $500.00 to do the install which is a great deal. I have had scetchy quotes of at least $1000.00 or more. it is the more that makes me nervous. I have contacted the installers in Atlanta and they are extremely tight lipped on the install. I thought if the installer I choose had problems, they could call the guys in Atlanta to get help. NOOOWWWAY What ever happened to networking?? If I drive to Atlanta it will cost me about $700 to $800 plus the install. Has anyone out there had this install done that can help my installer or maybe some one that is closer to me? I have alredy spent $2000.00 on my parts and really do not want to spend more than $3000.00 total. Maybe I am in over my head on this mod. Sorry about the whining. Any suggestions would be great.

navi parts

I found the parts at a salvage yard in Wisconsin called savedparts.com. He had the display unit new and dvd rom unit used. All the other small stuff like the HFL/NAVcontroller for the steering wheel, harness and some brakets were new as well. Im not doing the dvd changer install like dan....k did. Im spending way more on the navi install than I wanted. If you take your time you can find the whole unit from a salvage yard for around $1500.

Paparazzi, this a old link that some guy call trashcan did it has the orginal setup on how to install the unit i also got my parts from a junkyard. Look at body shop they have good installer and they would do the work much cheaper.

Have your installer take some picture of the installation so, you can posted on the web site site.
