Nokia 6620 fyi

The new Nokia 6620 for AT&T and Cingular wireless has all the same bugs as the previous bluetooth nokia models. Just like the 6820 and others it still doesn't show battery and antenna info. If you want to get this phone only to work with the car in hopes of getting all the info in the MID dont waste your money. Other than that its an excellent phone.

you're saying you're able to view the battery & reception on the MID?

No meters, just the triangle. I was refering to "bugs" as not having any glitches/technical difficulties w/ my phone.

Those are not bugs. That's how Nokia wants their bluetooth to send information.

Hmmm...that sucks as I plan on sticking with Nokia. I've just had such great luck with them. My phones have worked perfectly fine for years after being dropped (on pavement), tossed, even left outside in the rain over night.
Wheres my 6230 already??? Cingular advertised it in the local paper and now (months later) I still have to argue with Cingular reps to get an expected release date.
I apologize in advance for going OT an a tangent

lol... The Nokia 6230b should've been released by now for Cingular. I don't know what the hold up is. They are getting the silver one, although it looks white. I'm waiting for them to get the Sony Ericsson S710a but that won't be out until next year.

I agree about the 6230! Where the hell is it already????? I've been calling, stopping in at cingular stores, looking at the phone on ebay, etc. and I just don't get it how it can take this long to come out with a phone that has been in their brochures/flyers for two months already. Meanwhile this phone has been out in europe for several months, so the phone obviously works and is a viable product.

I'm sick of waiting and I'm too frustrated with the rinky dink sony ericsson 637 phones to consider getting another one of those....

Nokias are very solid, reliable and durable products. If I sacrifice battery and signal strength display for a phone that works better and longer, I'll take that sacrifice.

Depending how desperate you are to get it, you do have a couple options if you have cingular.
mobilecityonline - suprisingly decent price
or Chippery9 - on ebay and howardforums $425 + $13 shipping (last i checked)

Phones are unlocked from both places and have seen reviews by people who purchased them from both sources (on howardforums). Me personally, I'm going to wait and try to get the 6230 from Cingular. This way it will have all the preloaded Cingular BS on it. I want to be able to use AIM and whatever else they may add. I just hope they're not going to kill me on price as well as force a 2 year contract on me. We'll see what happens....

the 6230 requires a manual connect every time you get in the car and drops the bluetooth link frequently, cingular updated firmware.... still got auto connect / battery strength missing / antenna strength missing / drops bt connect issues
