Need help w/ navi

Hey guys, 2 days ago i started my car and the OK navi screen didn't show up instead it showed the ACURA logo NAVIGATION SYSTEM with picture of space in the back. While driving the screen goes off and turns back on like its rebooting and sometimes it comes to the screen where i need to enter the password.....problem with that is....it wont accept any numbers except for the first one. One time the other night it did accept it after pushing a little harder and the whole thing worked till i got home and next day didn't work again. I tried cleaning the cd but no success. Please help...thanks

My wife's 04 TL just started doing the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I looked around and several places said to take off both battery cables, touch them together for a minute or so and leave the cables off for 15 minutes and it will reboot the system. I did this and it came back on and said rebooting but then went back to the same problem as before. Please anyone with any info or ideas help us out.

Never had this happen but I would try to disconnect the battery for a reset. Also, make sure nobody took the disc out that goes in the trunk.

If the battery reset doesn't work, take the disc out and clean it, then put it back in. If that doesn't work, see what happens when you hold the map, menu, and cancel buttons down together for 5 seconds. If it goes into the diagnostic screen, run the diagnostics, but do NOT change any settings. See if anything comes up with an error.

Sounds like you'll have to pull the trunk drive and ship it to Alpine w/$150 for repair.
Do a search for the correct address; several members have had to do that, IIRC.

G/L.

IIRC = If I recall correctly

See posts 32 and 61 re: Alpine address in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/dvd-disc-reading-error-3g-garage-i-001-a-690561/

Call Alpine to confirm the shipping address; it has a number of service centers.
