Navigation Hack Guide: Welcome Screen Mod, Trip Computer, OK Button Nag Removal

What if I saved the "navi" folder on my desktop.
So here is what my black screen looks like,
C:\User\myname>
(Then I type in cd\navi)
C:\User\myname>cd\navi
The system cannot find the path specified
C:\User\myname>
So so lost.

where did you put your files? Putting it on the desktop will just cause you more headaches. If you already have the folder called navi, just drag it to the root (\) of C:\
Or, if you don't have a folder anywhere called navi, then make a folder called navi on your C: drive, then put all of your files in there, then when you do the 'cd\navi' it will go there. Right now it sounds like you don't have the folder called navi in the root of C: (C:\navi) so it's giving you the error.
If you don't know how to make the folder then you might need to do some googling to understand about Windows folders.

Well i found an online image convertor so im going to try that.
On the other hand im a little confused on steps 5 and 6
5. Copy 2 files off your orange navigation disk.where do i copy this file to, do i just highlight it and copy and paste it into the "navi" folder? (IMPORTANT!!! if you did the wallpaper and/or the trip computer already. You want to use your modified BNHH401A.BIN instead of the one copied off the navigation dvd)
BNHH401A.BIN
BN2HHMLD.BIN
6. Copy DumpNAVI.exe, your wallpaper, and BNHH401A.BIN into the same folder. Why am i copying two files when im only loading BNHH401A.BIN

Couple more questions, i know im blowing it up sorry.
9. Now you should see "C:\NAVI>" Now type "dumpnavi BNHH401A.BIN update Back.bmp" and press enter. The pc will prompt you when it's done. How long does that usally take? I think i finally got it to update. Right now the CMD screen looks like this:
C:\navi>dumpnavi BNHH401A.BIN update Back.bmp
Updating Back.bmp...
C:\navi>
10. The new wallpaper is now in the bin file.Once the new wallpaper is in the bin file, do i go into the orginal navi folder that i made and just copy that BNHH401A.BIN file along with BN2HHMLD.BIN onto a cd?

Hey guys, I downloaded the files in the link and this worked great when I was using my original 08 White Map DVD disk but when I put in my new 2012 White DVD Update disk (v4.A2) it overwrote the splash screen. Anybody know how to fix this? Every time I put the splash screen back on the new disk overwrites it. Please let me know if anyone has found a way to do this.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hey has anyone had a problem with the dumpnavi program? I downloaded it numerous times and I cant get it to work. When I click it it will open for like 2 seconds then turn off. I have tried running it in compatibility mode with Vista, XP with service pack 2 and 3 same results.

I have an '05 TL, 3.40c orange disk. All the links and files I've seen posted here for that version are either broken or do not work. KennyC's on the front page and the ones posted by 'clsdave' a few pages back don't work, and AngryDad's patches say they won't run on my version of Windows ( 7 x64). Can someone please just point me to the working links I need for this particular version of the nav, or better yet send me the files. Please, I've tried everything.

Uploaded the 3.40C file again. Rapidshare this time.
I've uploaded the file again but to rapidshare instead of hotfile. Rapidshare deleted the file for the second time and I can't login to my account. The "forgot password" link says they don't have any email address buy that name. Funny, I have a confirmation email from uploading the file. The login account is not deleted either since it "already exists" when I try to create it.
Let's hope rapid share is better. Here is the link to the file:

clsdave,
Thanks for posting that, I've been searching all over for some working 3.40c files. It looks like the link contains a modified 401A.BIN file, so then all I would need to do is burn that and the BN2HHMLD.BIN file from my orange disk, right? Do I not need to mess with dumpnavi or HMIManager?

GatorDave,
I did this long ago when the instructions from bysin said to copy the 9 bin files from the original disk then modify the file your system uses to boot. There is a ReadMe.txt in the dumpnavi-console.zip file with the original instructions from bysin.
Since I made my CD someone has pared it down more. The shorter version, which I have not tried, says just the two files, BNHH401A.BIN BNHHMLD.BIN, as you stated need to be on the CD.
I think the two 401A.BIN's I included are modified. One I'm sure what it contains but the other I'm not sure and have add a description to the filename. You need to rename the file you use to the original filename, BNHH401A.BIN and don't need to use dumpnavi or the HMIManager programs.
Hope this helps!

Just to update, I successfully installed the trip computer and ok button hacks with clsdave's files posted above. All I did was take the modified 401A.BIN file, rename it to the original filename BNHH401A.BIN, and burn it to a CD along with the original BN2HHMLD.BIN file I got from my orange navi disc. Success.
So anyone with version 3.40c orange disc, this method works. Thanks again to clsdave.

It's been a few years since I last hacked my 04TL Navi ...
I am pretty much back to "stock" Navi right now (but, a nicer wallpaper).
I was trying to remember: Is there a version of the hacked Navi that will display the environmental system status (A/C on/off, Fan Speed, Temperature, Mode, etc.)?
My center console (white florescent) top information display is on the fritz, and it would save me a few hundred $$$ if I could get the same functionality from a Navi hack and just let the display flake out.

GatorDave - Unfortunately, your solution did not seem to work for my Version 3.80 Navi disk.
But, there's good news:
For those of you who have a Version 3.80 (Orange) Navi DVD with a bootloaded BN2HH12C.BIN (required!) file, I can provide 2 solutions for you:
For option 2:
Now, the "Not-so-good-news" (for me):
While this hacked Navi does add A/C controls on the Navi screen, they are useless for me. The A/C controls are only for Manual control, and don't contain any functionality to support the Automatic A/C controls. I was hoping for something that would display the Automatic temperature, and display the same information shown on the small white information display above the Navi screen. I guess I will have to purchase a replacement screen someday (and, fork over about $400 in the process). Sigh.
But, there's good news:
For those of you who have a Version 3.80 (Orange) Navi DVD with a bootloaded BN2HH12C.BIN (required!) file, I can provide 2 solutions for you:
- An ISO image: http://www.filedropper.com/hacked380naviiso
- Or, if you want to change your wallpaper, you can use the 3 files in this archive: http://www.filedropper.com/380naviandtripcomputer
For option 2:
- Format your desired wallpaper to an 8-bit Windows BMP scaled to 480x234 (Check in other postings about size restrictions).
- Then, run the dumpnavi.exe program
- For the bootloader file, select the attached BN2HH12C.BIN file.
- Enable "Modify Bitmap", and select your wallpaper.
- Disable "Modify Nag Screen" (It is already modified).
- Press "Modify", and (hopefully) you're good to go.
- Create an ISO CD that just contains the BN2HH12C.BIN and BN2HHMLD.BIN files.
- Follow the instructions found in the original post under "How to load my custom bin back into the car?".
- Good Luck!

I second that request for information. Is it simply the orange disk thats allows this to work or is the version significant. As I stated a couple pages back, I had the old version of the disk and created the hack disk to complete the mod but when I upgraded to the new disk all the mods were overwritten. Can I simply use the old version of the hack or do I need to copy an updated file to make this work again?
Thanks
Thanks

Has anyone figured out the new 2012 white disk hack yet? I'm driving 2007 TLS. Is it even possible for that? So sorry if it's already been talked about, but it's 40 pages worth of stuff i just don't have time to read.
Much appriciated.

I have an 04 TL, 3.30f orange disk. I have read through all the pages and all the links and files I've seen posted here for that version are either broken or do not work. I have tried downloading clsdave file since thats the most recent one and the file downloads but doesn't open. If anyone has the files pm me or post it here. Thanks

I finally got the ok button, trip computer, and ac controls hack to work. I wanted to change the splash screen so i downloaded a picture to load on my nav but it didn;t work so i put in my old nav hack disc that worked for me but it keeps on saying please check your disc when it try's to load. Don;t know why its not working as the hacked disc was just working yesterday. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I too am having an issue with the White Disc "4.A2" for my Acura 08 TL-S. It worked great with the stock disk but this update disk wont let me crack it.
For anyone that cares the version screen shows this:
Program Flash: 2.11.00 KA
Program Disc: 2.11.00
Model: SEPX
The disk is white and labeled 4.A2
Of interest are these two new BIN files which bysin can no read (error: Invalid ROM header):
11Jog128Acu.bin
11Jog128M.bin
Hopefully that helps. Really missing my slash screen image. It was really pretty tight.
