Mirror mount for radar detector

Hello!

I just bought a new radar detector, and I want to use a rearview mirror mount. I hear that Blendmount is really good, but $80 seems kind of pricey for a mount.

Has anyone tried the Rogue radar mount: http://rogueradarmount.com ?

Is it pretty solid, or does it let the detector rattle around?

Not worth it, i use the one that came with my Cobra and hardwired into the rear view mirror wiring. Works perfect and looks great.

So has anyone used this mount or not? Seriously 90 bucks for the mount is a bit too high in my eyes...thoughts?

Is it because a blend mount costs as much as a Cobra?

Well I can get the mount and a stealth wire shipped for around 50 bucks! My only concern is that I have an Escort 9500ix and it has satellite, will the mount be an issue getting satellite?

You should check the Blendmount website. There is a post from an '08 TL owner who said that the mount did not fit the stock mirror.

I looked at this before when I was trying to find a place to mount my V1, the problem with the TL rearview mirror is that there is not enough room for the mount to attach to behind the mirror.

i bought mine from here a while back.

looks like they have some new adjustable ones that cost more. the stem on the TL is really small, probably 1/4" so i had to stuff some rubber hose that i cut up in there. there's not much room for the mount but i made it work. the only problem i have is the mirror is not facing me, its about an inch or two off. i can take if off to dremel the mount a little but ive been lazy and it dont bother me that much.

So does the blend mount not work on the 4th Gen TL either? Does anyone have pics of it?

Has anyone tried this? I was thinking about getting one for my 07 TL, but concerned about the fitment.

I purchased this same mount a few years back. works ok but like you said its too big so the hose was needed to make things fit snug. my mirror is really loose now and I am pretty sure i am getting the 9500ix for xmas so I need a new way to mount. I have read, but can not find, a post where someone used a glass specific glue to glue the stock suction cup mount right to the window (up high). I think its the stuff people are using to attach the window spoilers. It would be a bit of a pain removing if you need new glass, but it might be worth it in order to save my mirror and not have the worries of suction cups breaking loose.

I just noticed your "not facing me" problem. It shouldn't really be facing you, it should be facing behind you. I have never had a problem with this. I did have to fool with the width of the tube and the placement of the mount before it was tightened, but I never had a problem positioning it where I wanted. Maybe we sit differently or something which would make our ideal placement different.
