MediaGate (MG-25p) Problems, please help
So I finally have all the pieces to perform the MediaGate install in my car, but now the MediaGate player is messing up. The hard drive still works fine as I can still access the files via my computer. However, when I plug the player into my TV, it no longer works and just shows up as a black screen....
Any ideas or thoughts on how I can fix this?
I can't even find where to locate the newest software or how to install the software on the MediaGate.
Thank you in advance for any assistance...

Update...
The MG-25p works on my TV with the RGB cable and the additional audio cable, but DOES NOT work with the traditional A/V Cable (red, white, yellow). I applied an upgrade using this hookup method (RGB cable) and still nothing with the traditional, just black screen.
Maybe this input is just bad, possibly the cable? Any thoughts?

Are you sure you are hooking them up to the right port on the back? IIRC there is one jack to use when connecting via RGB (which is component) and a different one to use for A/V cable (red, white, yellow)

Here is what I'm talking about.
The port labeled HD is for the RGB and the the A/V is for the YRW (A/V) cable.
Also I think you have to select the type of output in the menu so you may have the output on HD and not A/V (I don't remember the exact names in the menu)

I definitely am using the correct port (A/V). The thing worked like a champ all up until a few days ago via the a/v , and then suddenly, it stopped working. I think it is a problem with the A/V port not functioning correctly. Not sure why it would just stop working.
any other thoughts?
Thanks for the replies

It could be your car power adapter. I know that lembowksi bought a cheap power adapter from eBay claiming it was compatible, but his mediagate refused to startup. When we tested the unit with my power adapter (iRiver one in the mediagate thread) it worked like a charm.
The component cables that come with the mediagate can also be used as the regular composite cables. There is a mapping of what color maps to what in the main mediagate thread.
The "video" button on the remote will allow you to cycle through the output settings manually. Try hitting that until you get a display. Once you do, you'll have to go into the setup to change to the correct settings. For the regular composite cables (yellow, red, white) the output is 480i/p. You can only get HD (720p+) through the component (red, green, blue) cable.

datmrman... YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
I plugged it into the TV and kept hitting the "Video" button and then it magically appeared.
Thank you again datmrman, I will begin my installation soon and will fully document with pictures.

Glad you got things figured out. Just make sure you actually change to the correct video settings in the "Settings" menu so you don't have to hit the "video" button each time.
