Just Installed Subs

Hey guys, spent the afternoon wiring up my old subs that I had laying around and iv gotta say, holy hell lol so loud it hurts. Love it and was able to disconnect the stock sub so no more annoying noise! I put them in the back of the trunk and made a small square and mounted it to the wall of the trunk for a flat surface to mount the amp to. And there is a hole behind the amp where the wires go... ran them into the cabin and along the drivers side into the grommet right about the interior fuse panel and strait to the battery!

As you can see I made it so I can pull the subs out super easily! Well besides the fact that the box weighs 60 plus pounds

I like the bat....lol. Seriously its a clean setup and you still have plenty of trunk space. Hey can I ask where you got the power for the remote wire and rca in for the amp? Thanks....

I'm glad to hear it sounds good enough to make you happy. That's all that counts!

I used an add a fuse on fuse 32 in the interior fuse box for switched power. And a used an LOC AKA "step down" connected to the wiring that goes to the stock sub to get the rca. And the stock sub is disconnected and the sub controls still work off the head unit.

Ok thanks. I was hoping there was a different way then use a loc for our stock radios. When I install my DVD player I will probably just use the rca outs and the accs pwr wire for the remote.

Yea I just mounted it there cause it was easier to hide the wiring. And my amps beat to shit but it gets the job done, well lol leave it to rockford to make an amp that can be abused like that and still work perfect

I have tons with my setup. My amp is a Sony Xplod, I was skeptical at first, but it has been great, taken it's fair amount of abuse.

Oh yea lol I got rid of some of it by using 4 hose washers behind the 4 license plate screws and reattaching it. Got rid of alot of the noise but there is still rattle. But the subs are loud enough that you dont hear it lol

Nope I disconnected it without a problem. I disconnected it and used wire taps to hook up the LOC. You were prob. told that because with alot of other brand cars if you disconnect it they headunit stops outputting bass but not with the TL.

This is where the bandpass ported through the ski pass really shines. No rattles, no need for sound deadening.
