iPod attached or detached when starting the car?

Can someone tell me is it bad to have my iPod attached to the iPod interface (will charge the iPod) when I start the car? What about in general? Is it bad to leave the electronic device attached to the charger while starting the car?

No problem at all. All iPod interfaces have internal voltage stabilizers with surge suppressors. I bet that modern cars have surge supressors on their own, because they use a number of sensetive electrinic devices.
