Ipad and Acura TL '08 with navi

Hello folks,

Has anybody successfully paired an Ipad with an Acura TL '08 with Navigation? I have been trying to get it to work, using the same process as pairing an iphone but the car gets to discovery mode and just stays there for a long time with nothing happening on either device...

thanks
Rick

Why would you want to pair an iPad to the cars Nav? I thought pairing was only meant for cell phones...Unless your iPad can make calls, then by all means, I have no idea.

I haven't heard of doing that before, but why do you want to pair it?

Why are you trying to pair the ipad to the TL again. It just doesn't make any sense, so far.

Please look at this thread :

https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-294/ipad-hookup-772233/

I am trying to do the same thing. Basically to Bluetooth pair it to get the audio to play through the car's speakers. I have Novatel MiFi, and I travel a fair bit, so this would be a good way to listen to Pandora radio for instance while on the road.

Thanks
Rick

Do you have a smartphone?? Then you can listen to Pandora on the road. Did you see the thread to get XM for $77/year??

Having an iPad 3G, I can certainly see benefit. However, immpretty sure the audio portion of Bluetooth bands are locked out of the iPad, so if it has any hope, I think it needs jailbroken first. Then you could Skype, jabber, etc.

What I'd like to see is a dash mount kit for the iPad. Trade the money I'm paying for shade-45 and hair medal and get the Pandora rolling over 3G, much richer maps interface, plus email, web, contacts, everything!

Why not just tap into the Auxillary and keep your mobile phone paired through Bluetooth. You'll get the same sound quality and a little more functionality. IMO

I have a 4G TL, but I have successfully paired my iPad with the bluetooth on my car to play some of my iTunes songs. I realize this probably doesn't help you though.

With the 4th Gen, they're supporting Bluetooth Audio Streaming...definitely a great improvement.
