How to make bluetooth take over...

When you are talking on your phone and then hop into the car. How do you get the bluetooth to take over? Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,
D

Hit the HFL button and say, "Transfer."

This works to hand off the call either way, so you can do the same when you get out of the car, too.

Hmmm....that's interesting. The bluetooth on my wife's Pioneer AVIC-Z1 automatically transfers the call to the car when she starts it up and it hooks.

Why is this interesting?.... Because two different systems work in two different
ways?

I learned something new from this post though, I did not know the car would allow you to transfer the call

Two different manufacturers using the same protocol...bluetooth. Not two different systems. I'm surprised they don't both work the same. It may have something to do with the phone being used too.

Sorry, this is going to sound like a rant, flame, whatever you want to call it.

I'm amazed at how happy people seem to be when they find out about new features from this forum. Don't you know that you can have this happiness ten times over if you take the time to RTFM! It's all in there and you can sit in the drivers seat as you read and re-live the joy and excitement again and again as you come upon all the features you probably don't know you have. It's worth it.

While they do use the same communications protocol, they are different systems with different behavior. I don't think I'd want the handoff to be automatic anyway. It would annoy me to be on the phone and then have the car suddenly "take" the call away from me and put it on the HFL. For example, let's say I'm with some coworkers and I am on a call as we walk back to the car. I start the car and suddenly my call is shared with everyone in the car. I'd rather explicitly tell the system to make the handoff. Of course, having a settable preference would be the best solution.

I'm amazed you even took the time to even reply to something like this.

I found the forum to be helpful on some things. I RTFM and I didn't know about that feature.
