How does your Bluetooth audio work?

Hi all,

I used to be able to make a call from my phone and have it automatically transfer to my handsfree link (HFL) without any additional input.

But that does not happen anymore. Instead, the bluetooth connection cuts off and I have to select bluetooth on my phone.

I know there the hfl website has a compatibility website, but I rather take real-world input from the fellow acurazine members.

so here's a question to everybody, how does your HFL bluetooh work?
-When you make a call directly from your phone, what happens?

and thanks in advance!

Mine does the same thing. If I dial from my phone, I have to toggle the bluetooth headset for it to use the HFL. This differs from one of my work vehicles (a Toyota), which will kick on the HFL even when I dial from the phone.

If I dial via the HFL or answer a call with the steering wheel, it works fine.

was afraid of that answer :-/

i'm almost certain that my car used to let me dial from my phone and it automatically transferred to the car to the point where i could still hear the ringing when calling.

HFL needs to update that stuff in their next cd... this is not a problem in the 2011 Acura TL

I have the same problem with my iphone 3gs, can only get the transfer to the car to work once someone pickup. I ussually just keep hitting the hand free kink on the iphone while it is ringing so it will transfer after pickup.

My old Razr would allow the transfer while the phone was ringing.

I have the same problem with my iPhone4 ... a call placed on the phone won't transfer to HFL in the car automatically. If the phone # is not in my HFL directory, I "solve" this by dialing the number on the phone and immediately hanging up, then hitting my HFL button and saying "Redial" ... easier than constantly fiddling with trying to get the call to transfer to HFL the other way.

My Verizon iPhone pops up a screen asking whether I want to use the HFL or the phone if I have it connected and I dial using the phone (which is very, very rare for me). I just tap the HFL button on the phone display and the call goes over the HFL without me having to do anything using the HFL.

2004 TL with Navi, if that matters.

we can update the HFL?

mine doesnt work if i dial a number with my phone, nothing happens on the car, i have to dial it from the car for it to work. my phone is a bit old though maybe thats why its not fully compatible. in fact on the compatibility list it shows it wasnt even supposed to be able to transfer my phonebook but it did anyways

After you dial, try toggling the bluetooth on your phone, even if it says it's already on. This has worked for me on my andriod os phones.

It's not ideal since you probably have to wait til the call is connected and starts ringing, but it's a step better than being forced to dial with HFL.
