I'm over this whole situation. I no longer have to press the OK button EVER again.

I only keep coming back to this thread to watch the fireworks.

Quote: Yes Brandon... We have been able to that since way before /Angrydad was ever here. Just use a hex editor to modify the text in navi.exe.
yea but i'm saying, can you change the text after you apply his patch?

Again... Yes... Brandon. You can modify all the text in splash screen before or after applying the patch... but you can't change the AD in the lower left corner of the screen after the patch, as the AD is part of the patch sourcecode. See kennyc post patch modded splash screen.

Quote: Pimpin-tl,

Whatever AD's flaws were, selling copyrighted material was not one of them. He was offering to sell a patch (which contained no copyrighted code), not the material itself. Please try to not spread mis-information.

Wrong. A HACK of part of a copyright material is illegal. And trying to SELL that HACK is illegal. It is even worse than just giving it to someone.

Let' see. I was the primary one who said lets send him donations and thats how that got started. Then he got Greedy, and wanted people to pay $50 to have the NON-AD version of his hack. I would call that demanding since there was no reason to put the AD in that hack in the first place unless like some have said, he had this planned. He obviously didn't want to support the forum because he didn't want to pay the fee to become a vendor.

You on the otherhand do not have a clue how the system works. I suggest listen to AcuraZine Admin because he has ran a club and has seen it many many times before as well as I.

Quote: You have no idea what you're talking about, and have definately taken a big ol drink of the AZ Koolaid.

- Noone ever demanded money. AD asked for compensation to custom modify the FREE PATCH HE GAVE TO YOU.
There was no "demand" by AD.
AD: Here's a "free patch" that works. Only issue is you have to look at my intials at the bottom of the boot screen for 4 seconds. Take it, it's free...
Me: "but I don't like the AD at the bottom".
AA: "Well, i can sell you a customized signature free version for $50"
Me: " no thanks"
AD: "enjoy"

Wheres a demand?

He wrote this, if he wants to be compensated, he should be allowed to pursue it... No different than a mechanic installs a performance part.

- Against forum rules? - I guess it's against forum rules to ask for a mechanic to perform your supercharger install via the forum by that reasoning
- Illegal? See Apnar's response.

My last communication with AD, before this business, was that 5 members had donated. That's a LOT more than who downloaded the patch, for sure.

Do you use shareware? or do you just steal copyrighted software from work like the rest of the world...
High and mighty... .. .. . nevermind.
