Yesterday i tried to pair my iphone 4s to my '05 TL w/nav and the phone/car couldn't find each other. Today I tried to do the process again but when i pressed the button to get to the HFL it wouldnt register. What could be the problem?

Trevor, make sure the iPhone finds the car first. When you see the car on your iPhone screen, tap it (to activate it). Then go through the HFL to find the phone.

When you select Handsfreelink does it display "BOOTING UP"?

If so your module might be toast.

I just replaced mine, prior to sometimes it would work and not find my phone and others would just display the above, notorious message.

If you do not see booting up hold in both HFL buttons for a few minutes to see if everything's functioning properly.

Did you talk to your dealership? Did you get a quote on how much it would cost you to replace it? I think I got a quote for about $600.00 a while back.

i had a same issue this week for my tl 08 type s. After reading all the forums on Acurazine i was pretty sure my bluetooth has gone bad. But still to clear out the curiosity i took it to the dealer and found out bluetooth needs to be replaced. I end up paying charges for diagnosis

I'm here in charlotte,NC and quote provided to me was $380 with installation. If you wanna fix it by yourself you can get HFL unit for 230.

Best of Luck!

Shouldn't that be under warranty? Pretty sure you shouldn't have been charged a diagnostic fee if so....

The HFL module can be had for ~180 new.

Yeah it's stuck on booting up. But I'm not going to replace it even though it would be nice.

I had some problems with my 08 TL loseing link-up with my Droid smart phone. The dealer had to call tech services to find out why. It seems I had to turn off the Wifi settings on the phone. Wifi interferes with Bluetooth. Now it works perfectly. Check your wifi setting if you have a problem with the Bluetooth. Hy

I've never had any problem at all with wi-fi interfering with Bluetooth regardless of whether I'm using the TL's HFL or my Bang & Olufsen earpiece when I drive our other cars. Sometimes I turn off the wi-fi when I turn on the cellular data on my way out the door, sometimes I don't (if I'm going to pick up my wife at the subway, I seldom bother to turn off the wi-fi since it's not a long enough trip), but the Bluetooth has never been a problem at all. I have an iPhone 4 and a 2004 TL.

Bluetooth module-Who has best price?

Does anyone know who has got the best price on a new Bluetooth module for 2007 TL with Navigation? It is a very simple installation. Probably a 10 year old can install it faster than an adult.

Check vendor oemacuraparts.com (Acura of Peoria's website) for the specific HFL part number, then do a Google search for the part number.
Oemacuraparts.com was the least expensive when I purchased an HFL module for an '05 last fall.
Acuraoemparts.com is a different dealer-- Del Rey Acura, which also has good prices on various parts.

FWIW, local dealers will sometimes match web prices.

G/L.

There was a Technical Service Bulletin for defective HFL(bluetooth) units, which seem to be the biggest source of dead batteries in the TL.
The HFL was designed to shut off 1/2 hour after the ignition is turned off(this would allow people to finish telephone calls with the ignition off), but the defective HFL units did not shut off.

If you don't have a volt meter, try disconnecting the HFL by pulling its fuse in the under-dash fuse box or disconnecting the HFL unit at the sunroof switch to see if that solves the battery problems.
If the battery problem is solved by that, the HFL unit needs to be replaced; it's an easy job.
For disassembly and reinstall instructions, see about the middle of the thread at: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/bluetooth-fails-792642/.

tbearz, does your son have an aftermarket stereo on it? That could be the problem.

I just paired my phone (Samsung Intensity II). I had to go into the phone and manually change the Bluetooth Paired settings.

Settings and tools-->Bluetooth Menu-->Options for 'Add New Device'-->Auto Pairing-->Turn Off

Once I did that and manually entered the PIN that I had set up in the car, it recognized the device and paired.

After reading all info here I decided to purchase a new HFL module for my 2007 TL. Do I need to disconnect the battery or pull a fuse before I install it? Great info here. Thanks to all.

No; just make sure the keys are not in the ignition.
The big HFL thread linked by twigglius has several posts with removal and install directions-- the HFL is really easy to remove and replace.
