HFL Locked

I just bought an 06 TL and the HFL is locked. Is there any way to unlock it or am I stuck going to the dealer?

What do you mean locked? Passcode?

Try pressing the talk button, and say "system".
It should say, "system options are setup and clear".
press the talk button again and say "clear"
It will ask something like "this will clear all phones, phonebooks, and passcodes, do you want to do this?"
press the talk button again and say "yes"
It will say " preparing to clear, this may take up to 2 minutes to complete"
press the talk button again and say, "OK"

It will tell you when its done.

Try this and report back.

My instructions were for an '06, which is what the OP has. I don't think the '07-'08's have the same HFL. I know they can do things mine can't, like import phonebook.
Maybe someone with an '07-'08 can help you.

my HFL is also locked

Hi all, i'm a new member in this forum. I'm a migration from a F350 diesel to a 2006 Acura TL. so far I'm having a blast with it,

The other day i was going to pair my phone with the system. When I press the "talk" button to begin the process, I hear "The system is locked. Please enter the 4-digit passcode." I have no idea where to look for the passcode.

Can anyone help?

Marvin

You're going to have to take it to the dealer to get the HFL reset. Only option.

Try "1, 2, 3, 4" (per the manual) first, then "0, 1, 2, 3" and "0, 0, 0, 0."
If those do not work, try contacting the prior owner(s) before paying the dealership for the passcode.

Then use the HFL "setup" to eliminate the pass code to use the HFL, unless you like having to use a pass code before calling out from the TL.

Same issue here. Got an 06 and previous owner locked the HFL with a passcode. Checked with a couple of dealers around Vancouver and they're asking $61 to have it unlocked...
