Help please anyone!!! Amp install questions
ok so here we go, i have a 2005 acura tl, i bought the following items to install, its an actual complete install, new head unit, amp, and 6.5 door speakers for rear and front.
heres the items:
Pioneer TS-A1685R(door speakers)
Pioneer GM-6500F(amp)
Pioneer AVH-X2500BT(head unit)
now heres where the problem lies, when i install the new head unit and amp, i get no sound. i know that there is a factory amp in the car but i want to bypass that by using the amp that i bought, do i have to remove the factory amp? is the wiring harness still that is on factory amp causing this problem and do i have to rewire it to LOC or something please help would be greatly appreciated.

return all equipment. re-think what your trying to achieve. research other TL builds. begin anew.

you will need to explain precisely how your new equipment has been wired before anyone can attempt to help you.

His statement is not questioning the quality of equipment that you purchased. His statement is outlining the fact that you have clearly not done your research in regards to the equipment that you NEED to buy to accomplish your goals.
The TL isn't a 1993 Ford Mustang, you cannot simply swap stereo equipment. Thorough research must be done to accomplish your goals.

ok understood. i should of done more research... this is what i did to bring some clarity, i installed the head unit with the Metra Electronics 70-1721 wiring harness, after that i ran the rca's from the hu to the amp and to the speakers i bought but no sound. from what i read on here, the wiring harness from the stock hu is tied into the amp. do i have to remove the factory amp and rewire the harness somehow? i dont care for the factory sub or center speaker

I still am trying to understand this build. You want to replace the HU with the pioneer unit and use a 4 channel amp to power new coaxial 2 way speakers mounted in the doors. and you want to abandon the center channel and sub? what about the dash mounted tweeters and rear deck mids?

I am sorry, but you really should have done more research in how to achieve your goals with this vehicle. the direction you are headed is not going to result in a positive end. perhaps getting some components and bridging the 4 channel amp to feed them. using the HU or OEM amp to feed the rear fill if you feel that necessary, but please no coaxials in the rear deck. Not sure what to say about your sub stage?

So you're head unit and amp turn on, yet you have no sound? Seems to me it could only be your speaker leads or rca's.

You can use the existing wire that's in the car but you have to know which ones to use. On the manual, you need to cut A6, A7, A13 and A14 for the fronts, connect some speaker wire to those leads and run the wire to your amp inputs.
The stock wires for the tweets and mids are wired in parallel so if your tweets are still connected, disconnect them. Also, the rear speakers are 2 ohm so i'd recommend disconnecting/replacing those as well. If you do replace them, do the same with leads A3, A4, A5, A12.

i had the exact same problem when i installed my HU, what i did though is i bypassed from the HU straight to the amp... you will most likely have to take the factory amp out... sorry... but i still have mine in and it sounds great! i also have 2 jl 10s in the back... putting the HU in and making sure it works and all with bypass is a pain in the butt, however it is well worth it
