Help installing aftermarket stereo in '05 TL non-navi

i have searched and searched these forums hoping that i didn't have to post but i cannot for the life of me find installation instructions on how to remove the factory stereo and install an aftermarket one.

i was hopeful after reading through the GARAGE but all the posts that i thought would be relevant were expired links

can someone here PLEASE point me in the right direction, i just got my new double din stereo and steering wheel harness and am ready to get started on this!!

thanks so much this forum ROCKS

BTW no one makes a kit for 3rd gen TL's to install an after market deck.

You will have to make it custom or have a stereo shop do it for you.

They normally charge in between $200 and $300.

good luck.

thanks for the help guys. can i ask what exactly you used for search terms? i spent about 2 hours searching through the 3G garage looking for these posts.

@pharonocon - i'll make my own deck mod, i did one previously when i had an 02 audi a4 that matched very nicely. though in this case i don't think i'll be able to match the aluminum strips.

Talking

If they keep telling you there's no dash kit for a 2004 Acura TL single or double din receiver they are wrong!

First post calling out members? Smooth move. Check the date, no kit was available then. And this kit is overpriced and not that great anyway its just the only thing available.

Right now I've got the dilemma of having replaced my 2000 v6 accord for a 20006 6mt TL. It came with a nicely installed pioneer Appradio 2 which has made my factory navigation unresponsive...any idea on how I can get it to work??

If not I'm just going to trade the damn thing for a factory head unit and hopefully go back to stock. I can just mount my iPad in it and being a motorcyclist it's just my winter beater so I could care less for that stuff.

Either go back to stock or do a tablet install for navigation. Hard telling what was done when they installed the aftermarket deck
