Again, depends on the enclosure. MSRP on the xd600/1 is $400, the high output JL box w/ a 12w6 is $750, HD-RLC is $40. So you are at $1190 in parts. Add wiring, ad you are $1250 ish. Figure 3 or so hours of labor on the high side. Depending on what your shop is charging plan between $120-$240 in labor, plus tax. I'd say $1460ish is pretty much an MSRP deal. You could probably do a little better, but you're not getting screwed.

1460 for a w6 and a xd?

Funny thing is, they'll probably use a shitty loc.

...so you'll probably be down 20+ db in output in the lower octaves.

^ especially when the xd can take speaker level through the RCA inputs. The stock amp cuts it enough without a LOC.

What does the rest of your system consist of? Seems like alot of cash for low end only.

* JL w6 (on diyma, etc...used but still perfectly fine) = $250 or less
- you could even do an IDmax or anything else that would be just as nice for the same price or possibly cheaper. Just depends on what's available in the classifieds on the forums at the time you want to purchase.

* Sealed box or built ported = $70 to $200 (200 if you have it built...much cheaper if you just build it...and it's easy to do!)

* Amp (you literally have TONS of choices here) = $285 for the XD 600/1 at Amazon

* Wiring = $50-70

$700 and you have the EXACT same thing. It would take you all of 1 hour to hook up OR take it somewhere and have them do the amp kit and leave the wires in the trunk ready to hook up. Tap the factory signal and you're done.

This is why shops are going under....

WTF kind of hack job are you doing in an hour? It would easily take me 2 at a minimum, if not 3 and I've had this car apart countless times and do this everyday.
