Fiberglass Sub Box for 2007 TL Type-S

Hey kids,
I'm new on here and looking for some help.
I just bought a 2007 TL Type-S and I am trying to find a fiberglass box or JL stealth box of sorts for my TL. Any one know of a place to find one. I have a New JL 10W6 and an XD 600/1 amp. I've never done fiberglass at all. I have built a number of speakers boxes in my time, but need a little help on this one.

Thanks in advance
Rob

Take a look at these two threads.
very informative and might change your thinking on fiberglasing a box.

Specially since you have a w6, they love to be bandpassed!

Here's the link for the sub box.

It looks nice but that is some crazy ass money for just the box. If it included the sub it wouldn't be so bad. Still over priced but not a complete ripoff. I think you should try building one. Definately cost you under $100 in materials. I think I spent about $60 to make mine.

definitely not cheap. but considering the process they use for buliding it's worth it. You can never have a air pocket free sub box if you make it on your own. not that it really makes the box less sturdy as long as you make it thick enough.

I made my own before an the price of that box is worth it IMO.

Call them directly... their website is www.wickedcas.com. I did this when I was interested in one and they made a deal (I forget now). I have no complaints!

I went with fiberglass corner over a ported-through-the-armrest box. My goals were maximum trunk space (huge for my family), factory alternator (should be no issue regardless of setup, for me), 5+ years of uninterrupted service, easy to get right setup and GREAT sound. You see that $ was no goal, so I would gladly spend more to meet these needs.

I am putting a 12" Q in mine with about 1200 watts.

Box should be here in a week - I will let you know how it goes.

The Wicked Ass boxes are good. You can also try Gig Harbor Autoworks. The GHW owner Travis aka Uncald4 is a great guy and will give you a lot of good advice.

I went around to a couple shops in the portland area this last weekend and got quotes for a fiberglass enclosure anywhere between 500-700. They said I'd have to drop the car off for a couple days too which isn't an option for me. One guy at Car toys gave me a name of another shop I have to check out soon, but imo it doesn't seem expensive at all to get one made at 500.

I haven't played with glass since high school(and I didn't do very well), but to me spending 15-20 hours on it, stinking up my garage house etc isn't worth it. The way I see it is I get paid time and a half when I'm not at work, so any project I take on whether it be painting the house or something better save me more than the time I spend times my overtime. I've done a lot of house projects that I think are gonna save me money but in the end I take twice as long and end up more than if I paid someone. Time away from my family should be considered more than time and a half too.

The other thing I was thinking is what if I can't get the thing removed from my car, or I spill a cup of resin(clumsy I am). I can imagine the wife flipping out about that. This is just my opinion, after hearing the quotes the first time I was a little shocked, but after thining about what it'd take for me to do it I'm definitely considering having car toys just build me one and borrow a car for a couple days.
