Navi/Climate Bulbs Keep Blowing!

Hey guys-

So about a month ago one of the bulbs blew so i replaced it, after replacing another one went out... So i was like damn that's a hell of a coincidence... And now i have 3-4 more out after replacing that one! Not a coincidence..

Installed the short shifter this past weekend so I already had half of it ripped apart. I decided to take the navi unit out and check that they weren't just unseated, they seemed fine..

Anybody know what's going on here... I even talked to an EE at work about it.. he was stumped..

Thanks in advance.

I just replaced like 4 bulbs and the same thing happened..Read around I hear it's common. Probably because the average life of the the bulbs or something to do with the amperage (40 and 60 mA)

Weird, The average life could be like +/- 100% so the odds of them failing that close in time is worst than winning the mega millions.

Wonder if anyones actually tested the bulbs to ensure they are dead after removing with a power supply or something.. Very strange and EXTREMELY annoying.

Anyone else care to shed some light, i really can't find much via search..

I have 8 or 10 bulbs out in my 2004... most of them recently. Ironically, nearly as many in my 2006 which has seen 2 years less use (and about 50K less miles).

I would just get used to it. At least they are easy and cheap to replace.

Yeah, easy, cheap not so much for bulbs @ like 7$ x 10 of them... anyone tried generic bulbs and just used the oem bayonet connector. I saw a post about it before, but there were concerns with the brightness matching the stock bulbs?
